I will be at Sunbird Condos, and will be at the Athlete Dinner. Is there a place and time we are meeting before the Athlete Dinner ?

I had a good swim this morning, but since then I have been having periodic "Oh-sh*t-it's-next-Saturday" moments.  Trust in my training, trust in my training...

I will say that an IM taper is unlike anything I've experienced before.  I swing between being hyper-focused one minute to complete apathy the next.  For months I completed workouts like it was my job, now I can barely get motivated for a workout 1/3 of the length.  It's all weird, man.

Wait until you start hurting. Shooting pain to the point of not being able to walk is not odd. How in the HELL am I going to do this?

Then it all comes together.

Here's my kit.  Only difference is I'll be wearing the aero helmet (in the same obnoxious yellow color).

We'll be staying at Whispering Seas, and hopefully I can make it to one of the swims with you guys (and gals).  I'll track down a picture of my bike and kit eventually...  and count me in for a few CO2s, and what's left over can go to any local who wants them!

I went to the brace shop to have my brace adjusted and the guys said something like your Ironman days are behind you...nope I'm doing one in 10 days

When you finish where do people go for a good burger and fries( do not feel like making one). I have never enjoyed the semi warm pizzas at the finish.

I was wondering the same thing, since it is a Saturday night I was hoping stuff would be open later (unlike Augusta!) in case I felt like venturing out for food.

I came across the website below that recommends certain restaurants in PCB.

I arrive Thursday around 11 am and will definitely be up for an easy swim Friday morning.

Also staying at Shores of Panama and hoping that it stays relatively warm so that my kids can use the outdoor pool. One more short ride this evening and then the bike is off to TBT tomorrow.

I signed up for IMFL online as soon as the race was available. After getting confirmation that I was in my wife immediately booked our condo. She was able to do it online. I'm guessing maybe you can only book a year in advance??? I really don't know. She did not have any issues booking at the Boardwalk the day I signed up for the race.

I'm not sure if the race director has more information on the weather than we have. I've got to assume he was just guessing when he posted this 5 days ago. Either way, we should start to get a feel for the race day weather in tomorrow's 10 day forecast.

Welcome to IMFL everyone. We look forward to seeing all of you in 12 days. Get ready for a great race. Weather looks to be in the 70's - 80's but prepare for our early morning chill around 40 degrees...Safe travels, see you at the finish line... R/D
