So far she's choosing same distances as last year's races.

The Confirmation List might be sorta helpful there if you really wanted to play that game. People still have to show up to run, so still not definite. Some lists you can hide yourself from too. Probably watch for some of the others just behind too. A couple have a lot of points for 2 races.

Looks like this is based on a percent of the winners time too. So whoever has to race a Flanagan or a Lauren Fleshman (you saw the bmx vine, right?) one time might be in trouble even by getting second place as the gap is likely to be, well, larger than normal.

Looks like she is about a 3:15 marathoner on the road so I'd have to give you a little advantage there too.  I don't know.  Could be an interesting matchup. {nudge, nudge}

Happy tax day!!  Once again I am last minute and heading to the post office.  Seems I am always running a little behind.  Anyone else still have their Christmas tree up??

My training plan has this as a bike focus week which is good.  It is my weakness now and I really need to ramp it up if I am going to have a good HIM in June.  I also need to get outside and off the trainer to gauge where I'm really at.  

Saturday is one of two of THE big local 5k's of the year around here.  It is the fastest, flat course with a large fast field.  The one mile mark goes right in front of my house so usually have some neighborhood support.  I would have liked to have better prepared for this but I guess you can't do it all.  I've chosen to try to stick with a greater focus on my training for the HIM.  Oh well, maybe lightning will struck and I'll just have one of those days.  This is such a great race.  For $20, it's chip timed, tech shirt, commemorative pint glass, free pizza and the weather should be perfect.

But the challenging thing is, the woman who is my "competition" runs longer stuff and I do shorter stuff, so we may never actually go head to head. So, it's just who shows up to race us.

I've got bigger priorities and this trail series is really just an opportunity to race regularly. However, I may use the opportunity to race a little longer distance as we near PPA. 

Especially when you lie around a Vegas pool for a week

How much would yall suppose it costs to pay a bike shop to completely disassemble a bike and then completely put it back together?

A lot.  I haven't had that done specifically but I did have it taken apart, shipped and put back together.  It weren't cheap :-(  I want to say a couple of hundred but that included the packing.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

I am kind of considering getting my MTB custom painted. I know, it's totally frivolous. But it would be so cool! But maybe it's a dumb thing to spend the $ on.

I think that I'd frame it as "maintenance." Seriously, it's not dumb.

Are you talking about disassembly with new cables and detail cleaning of components, greasing bearing, etc.?  I'm guessing between $100-$200 depending on what may need to be replaced.  You might pop Dave T. a pm.  He is a bike guru.
