kkcbelle - 2010-12-09 1:40 PM Oh good grief... Me and my grimmacing face with my legs up the wall...

FWIW, my quads hurt like MoFo's after my races too. Only the quads, usually. What sucks is that my multi-level house has stairs every which way. I'm a pretty pathetic hobbler the day or two after a race! (Not tris, though -- those don't trash my body nearly as much as stand-alone running races, go figure!)

Talk about a grimace!  check it out.  my coach is so happy he could scream.

So I'm back in the land of the living.

My $0.02 on the LV trip.....

Had a blast. Run was okay. Michelle had a great run and she enjoyed every minute of it, and I'm very proud of her.
My run went okay for about 20 miles. Then the right wheel started to fall off,(knee), but I limped through it knowing Michelle was closing in on me.
Really liked the half course. 2nd half was overpasses, and industrial parks. blah.
Won some $$ which always helps. Factory outlet shopping got rid alot of said $$.
Had many great meals with the group, as well as 1 great night of debauchery!!!

John - same old piece of work
Jarrett - patience. Girl is made of patience.
Kelly - great Texan girl..... Not only could she eat, she could drink me under the table.
Stephen- Kelly's yes man, right? Jump, how high? HA j/k great guy and love that he loved the tables.
Kim - Wayyyy taller than Suzy!!! Ha. had a blast playing craps. Really enjoyed our time together.
Kathy - quite the slots player. Totally enjoyed meeting her. So very soft spoken.Keeps Kim's compulsive gambling in check!!
DJ- sorry we missed out on ya. I'll be in Vegas soon enough.(probably with Kim again!!!)

I'm not coming back here for a while.  Instead of talking about Twin in reference to Suzy, just talk about Twin and her phenomonal performance.  Honestly, how much short crap can one person take and expect to still like those who spout it?  I have other characteristics don't I?

stop being so short sighted.  of course you do. it the little things, like you're really cute butt.  and your dedication to get up in the wee hours of the morning to work out.  most of our workouts are petite compared to yours.  and the advice you give, such as a compact running stride are invaluable.  these are no slight things we take for granted.  even the nutrtion advice, such as limiting portions to pint size...  awesome!

ok,  i gotta finish lunch, i have runts for desert!  then gotta make a phone call.

Ok.  You get an A+ for creativity and a F for actually getting a hold of me.....

I never answered my own question about my new favorite thing....LOVE my Aquasphere Kayanne goggles.  If you like the Blue Seventy Visions these fit even better and don't leave you with racoon eyes.

Off to Puppy class #4!

I hate being sick.

Didn't workout yesterday ate a hamburger and fries for dinner... I feel bad about it.

Have a half marathon scheduled for Sunday and the forecast is 40's and rain.

I'm sick of the extra cold weather, it's supposed to be here for at least another week.

My skin is so dry it's falling off.

Anyone have a small violin and/or some good cheese to go with my whine?

Well it has been another interesting week in my household. Did my run on Monday. Got hit with a bout of the flu Tuesday and Wed. Found out my youngest daughter and her hubby are separating for a while.  Yesterday did a good hour plus trainer ride. Then last night I cut a slice off the end of my finger (part of the finger nail and and a small piece of the end of my finger). Had to go to the hospital to get the bleeding stopped and got a tetanus shot.

I think it is time to move onto next week.

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend and to everyone else just have a good SAFE weekend

Rob, I hope your finger heals, and that your kids work things out if it is for the best.

Tony, I hope you feel better soon.  Like in one day, since your race is on Sunday!  Good luck to you and Sam on the half.

I'll join you in the whine, my thumb is getting this crack in it that comes from washing my hands 30 plus times a day, with this cold weather, it hurts like heck.

Kelly, glad you are okay after your fender bender.  And yes, you did only eat a small corner of your lunch that day.  Way less than I ate.  I was teasing you.

They say things happen in three's, I hope I am done at two.  Yesterday, while driving home from swimming, my car spun out on a normally very busy roadway, it was slick and super foggy, I fishtailed on an uphill and the road was turning to the right, then started to slide sideways into the next lane to the right, and somehow managed to right the car, right into an opening where there happened to be driveways and not cars.  Luckily there were no other cars nearby me, the light must have turned red right after my car.   My heart was pounding and I was super careful getting home.  Might be time to check my tires for wear and for air.  Then last night while walking to my car with my pizza and my super reflective raincoat a lady in a black SUV just runs a stop sign and almost takes me out for 1000 points!  My goodness, she actually tipped my pizza box with the nose of her car and didn't even stop!

The pizza was yummy.  I would have been really mad if it had fallen out.

Speaking of staying safe this weekend, yes, let's all do that!

Rob -- sorry about the finger and the kids and the flu. Yeah, move to next week!

Kim -- so glad you are here to write about your adventures with a tummy full of pizza!

Tony -- I've been whining myself this week fighting a cold. No race, thankfully (and of that I honestly do keep being thankful!) but I do have a key run I want to do today or tomorrow and am in a borderline state healthwise. I have a Plan A, B, and C for the workout, so I feel OK about that but darn it I just want to do it!!

On the flip side, I haven't had a cold in a long time, so I'm thankful that each time I've felt something coming on I've been able to stave it off. This time I deserved it, after a big Thankgiving, a race, and then a party where I drank too much and stayed up too late and had kids wake me up too early. My body cried UNCLE!

Onward!! We will all be better soon!!!!!! TGIF!!

I agree, but let's not stop at ending the week, let's just finish 2010!    I really feel like leaving early today and going to the gym.  What are they going to do, fire me? Wink   Speaking of unemployment, apparently there is a large population of unemployed triathletes in my area that get together and train during the week.  hhhmmmmmmm, collecting unemployment could be my funding source for my winter training program.

Rob - so sorry to hear about the family and you finger.  My Doug tried to take a finger off cleaning the blades of a food processor. Those cuts bleed like crazy.

Kim and Tony - Aquaphor is my new best friend. It is great for everything!! I've even started using it to prevent chaffing in my bike shorts.  Of course you have to get past the idea of carrying around what looks like a big tub of vasoline in your bag.  But considering Sam has no problem applying butt cream in T1 you should be cool.

There is only person in our household that has a right to whine today.  Cooper is off getting tutored.... uhm, I mean neutered.

We're supposed to get about 6" of snow tomorrow and then it'll be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY below zero for the following week.  I could b$tch, but since I'm not running outside these days, no need!  It takes the dogs less than 5 minutes to do his biz in this weather.

Chins up people.  We all have pretty good lives.

Also this is the first week in two months I have completed every workout (plus PT) so far. Still have a "run" and bike tomorrow nd a long bike on sunday (CT). Starting to feel like myself again. To my PT, Claire: Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)!"
