Nope. I never wanted kids. Then I changed my mind. Got pregnant. Had THE worst pregnancy. Was sick all the time and on bed rest for the last 3 months. I had postpartum depression bad. The first year of her life I was sad and miserable and not very engaged every single day and THAT makes me so sad to think about. I love my daughter with all my heart but knew I NEVER wanted to go through that again. So I had my tubes tied when she was about a year old after the depression passed and my hormones got all back to normal. I never wanted to get marry or have kids....I did both. Glad I was young when I did cause now......NO way! |

Nope. Not weird at all. Seen friends and family members go through such difficulties for something they want so much. I've felt guilty at times for having it "easy" and only wanting 2 kids. And, you're right. The man can only feel a fraction of it. Wish I had some fantastic advice. How about this: My wife has so much closer a connection to our kids and I am certain it's because she made them with her own body. I love my kids, but I could never imagine how much more making a human in your body would connect you to that person. I fully agree that we have it easy, but Moms get all the love first. That's why Mother's Day is a huge deal with flowers and brunch and mimosas while Father's Day means a discount on nose-hair-trimmers... I disagree with this, though I did grow them and birth them, I felt no connection with them. I hated the feeling of a baby inside of me and found NOTHING about the experience beautiful or bonding. I was sick three times a day, slept for 3 month straight, had horrible skin, and felt so groos and ULGY.
