Master 7712 Orlando | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Asalzwed - 2012-12-07 2:00 PM You may have a mild concussion, if you have other symptoms you should see a doctor. Last year I had a little bike accident where the bike slid out from under me and I hit my head - just a bit, by the ear. The foam part of the helmet cracked. I was a bit dazed, but because I was 20 miles from my car I had to get back on the unhurt bike. As I rode I thought, " man, I really am dazed, my vision is messed up". It took about 3 miles for me to remember I was wearing sunglasses and my messed up vision was from foggy lenses! I felt pretty good by the end of the ride. However, 2 days later I dove into the pool and thought my brains were going to explode out the top of my head. It was then I realized I probably had a slight concussion. Neurologist confirmed and I was out of commission for a couple of weeks. So, if you go swimming and your brains try to leave your head, you may have a concussion! In all seriousness, if you have any symptoms please get them checked out.I really think I lost my mind yesterday. I don't think it was a concussion since I only sort of hit my head but I think it was the shock. I did all of this crazy absent minded stuff. I apparently dropped my wallet and my neighbor found it. Of course I randomly had a ton of cash in it and gift cards for 100+ dollars. Bless his heart. I have got to do something nice for him. I wonder what else I did yesterday. I can't even recall most of the day. |

Master 2770 Central Kansas | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Good luck racing manatees! I got my 30 jogo minutes in today. My toe is looking and feeling better, so I think I will try 7 miles tomorrow. They finally graded the road today, right over a dead skunk. The grader pushed it to the side, so it is now buried in a pile of sand, only one lonely paw sticking up through the pile. So sad.

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED GO DUB SIX! GO JO GONDERT! Reindeer named Salty ... if you have brain trauma (that's a concussion no matter how mild), do NOT do the race. Don't walk it. Nothing. Seriously. Any tiny head incident at this point exponentially magnifies the initial damage. |

Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED Blooming windy in Melbourne it whipped up 2ins before start of OWS meet. A 1.2 actually nearer 1.6 but we won't quibble. Swim out to first buoy in eventful. Turn right go round headland 50 to second buoy 1-2m waves rolling me over couldnt see the buoy!! Scary just dug deeper than I've ever dug didn't see a life saver or I may have put my hand up decided to count 100 strokes then allowed 20 breaststroke to sight felt better the buoy just seemed to get further away! Once past that one and past the headland the swim to next buoy was easier the sun shone I could see the shore. Turned to swim to shore thinking waves would push me in but tide was going out so every break sucked us back out. An arduous event happy to have done it delighted and proud came 16th in my age group out of 20 I'm taking too 20 finish!Oh forgot my ear plugs hold on tight!! |

Loss of consciousness, however momentary, OR loss of awareness, however momentary = concussion. However, being an antler short of a full rack ... well ... just take it easy, at least, 'kay? |

Expert 1452 Troy, MI | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED I HATE WALKING!!! I <3 RUNNING!! Dickens 5k walk done. That hurt. Blech. I wanted to run. Next time I won't be stupid and sign up for the competitive walk. Only thing that got me to the finish line was the promise of homemade Christmas cookies and hot coffee. Cold, raining, sleet, snow....WET!!! Love the atmosphere. 1500 people, including fasties from the Hansons Distance Project, wearing shorts and singlets in 30 degree weather. Very festive. Wouldn't be the same if the weather were ever nice. Edited by jogo 2012-12-08 11:02 AM |

We are at about 1.35 and no sign yet - but it takes a while for it to update I imagine. I thought she'd be a little over an hour, swimming is her thing after all. I am of course worried coz that's what I do. |
