I've updated for the week so far,, I think I have 8 hrs left to meet my goal and I'm hoping to get at least 4 hrs this weekend.

so how are we doing??  I attempted to look at the others spreadsheet but it didn't always have how close they are to their goal... any news on that??

No, Cat hasn't sent out an update yet. She was away at a conference for a few days. She's back now, but I think she's busy with Easter. I'm thinking she'll get out an update after the weekend though. (Cat! Can you hear us? LOL)

KenD - 2008-03-21 5:47 PM 40.2 miles outside today. Beautiful weather. Low 70's and ~8 mph wind. Really beautiful.

Nice, but you don't have to rub it in

Just got done with a nice 50 miler {ok 48 and change]  another BT texas group ride with people doing a wetsuit swim first in a  local lake and some even did a quick run afterwards.. it's great when people are doing longer early season races.. I'm going to miss IMAZ being in April just for that reason,

Can someone enter my weekly total.  Just finished 17 miles at 10pm tonight to complete my goal for the week.

A very nice night for a ride.

Well I may be behind in my biking but it sure didn't take long to catch up on the posts. Sorry about being AWOL. I got the nasty flu that is going around here. My friend told me 2 weeks ago that it would be at leat 5 to 7 days until I would be better. I chose not to believe her and continued my "normal" life being bulstered up by numerous meds and herbs, and whatnots. I would crash each time with a fever and then jump back into it again. Finally I took the illness seriously and stayed in for a week with my 3 kids who were also sick (while my husband was out of town on business) in other words I would have RATHER been biking!!!!! So I am back, it was a beautiful sunny day here in Seattle, I know you think it is an oximoron, but it is NOT I assure you. I got 10 miles in. Slow start but I can not get sick again. I will continue the bikinig and put off the running for another week, ( I don't really like it so much anyway, I only run so I can do triathlons).

Been in the exact same boat... it's been a nasty flu going around.  I should be able to make up my biking this week...

Another 23 on the trainer this morning! If it doesn't warm up soon I will be looking at padded walls instead of padding posts!

Still a ways to go, but the schedule the next week should make it more than acheivable.

Looking at taking a 1/2 day at work and getting in a real extended 3 hour or so ride on the road in. Should bring me up near my goal.

I should make it  I'm off friday and next monday the 31st so I can get a couple of long ones in if I'm short or I can bump up or avg and be over my goals.

I'm in a car all day saturday driving to a race and then racing sunday and driving back home so those days are gone as training days and I'm only riding an oly distance on sunday..

Yep, I am going to make my goal.  Was there even a choice?  I figured I would get attacked by thousands of peeps if I did not make it.  What about everyone else!!!???

I am SO back in this challenge it is not EVEN funny. I did 18 miles today, doesn't sound like much to the overachievers in the group but that is almost 20% of my total goal. I have never ridden 100 miles in a month so this is a stretch for me. I am feeling much better and have figured if I continue to do 10 miles in the next 4 days, I am at 100%. Perfect because I can do more than that and I have more than 4 days, so my numbers are going up every day!! I will post every day now that we are in crunch time so you will see the progress.
Thanks for the harrassment. I mean encouragement!

PEDAL PEDAL PEDAL!!!

Another sunny day and no trainer! The hills killed me though, at least there are no hills (or should I say mountains) on a trainer.

Gaarryy - 2008-03-26 3:53 PM well we are not first but we are not last.. Middle of the Pack again [heavy sigh]

So the best team is at 85%.  I figured at least one team might make 100% but I have not seen the results of other challenges like this or participated in any.

So if we all bust it and do a ton of miles the rest of the week, can we move up or does the miles over the goal not help us?

Depends on the challenge.  Some have allowed up to 10% over.

Last month the team I was on was over 100% for the month and still wound up in the bottom half. (Which is why I am sporting this lovely NE Patriots avatar )

Each person on the team has to hit 100%.  If one person hit 95% and all the others hit 150% of their goals, it doesn't matter.  Anything in excess of 100% doesn't matter.

At least, that's the way it's been on other challenges.  We shall see.

19.4 miles on the trainer for me tonight.

Keep pedaling!

at least an hour tonight on the trainer. I'm off friday so probably get 2 hrs in outside, racing sunday so another 90 minuets and I've got all of monday to make up the rest..if that doesnt put me over

I've never really done a challenge before so I didn't realize everyone has to hit their goals??  Does that mean if I hit 110% it doesn't pull up someone at 90% team wise?  that's cool in a way.. since it makes people more accountable though

This is my 3rd challenge so I am still a relative newcomer to them, but it depends on how the challenge is set up whether your overage, overcomes someone else being short.  I can't remember if that was discussed for this one or not.  I figure the challenge forces me to push my workouts and I benefit from that.  If any extra I do benefits the team it is icing on the cake.  For January and February I think the main challenge was to stay healthy and the team that did won by default .

Besides, win or lose the benefits outweigh the negatives.  The worse thing that can happen is sporting an ugly avatar (like the one I have now)!  It can never be worse than the one I was stuck with after losing a football bet with marmaddy!
