I love cheesecake...good move step away from the area I know how it goes. I was at a birthday celebration for my mother at the cheesecake factory and it was so hard to only take a small slice of cheesecake instead of the whole cheesecake. but it had fresh strawberry topping on it so its healthy right? it has fresh fruit, and dairy! |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms I have had on again off again left shoulder issues since I started swimming in 2004. I also separated the same shoulder in a bike race crash last June and it has been painful at times. I started going to a new PT who works on body alignment. After she worked on aligning my pelvis and my right hip, I ran about 40 seconds/mile faster the next day and set PBs in my 5K and 1/2 Marys soon after. It is the strangest thing as she worked on my shoulder yesterday and with better aligned body I can swim better due to gained efficiency and that makes me faster all w/o pain. It was a good pike swim today...I make a joke that I swim like a Northern Pike...just lightens up my frustration with being a slow swimmer. I rode again it was gorgeous outside and I enjoyed it so much. Any day I ride is a good day. I know many of you won't think 52 is warm but for here now it is..great day to ride! Brick tomorrow....ride as long as I want minimum 25 miles then ride 3 miles. I got some new riding food today: Raspberry Newtons..yum! |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: Team Amazing Atoms I want to give you guys a heads up on what's going on with me. I have a consult with a surgeon next week because there's a pretty good chance I have an abdominal hernia. I've been having really bad abdominal pain any time I run longer than 3 miles in one specific spot. It goes away in a few days, but running really aggravates it. I have to take it pretty easy. I'm not sure what is going to happen, but chances are I will have to cut back on my goals. Sorry, team. I'll do my best, but I'm going to have to play it by ear as far as goals go. |

Does she do something like a chiropractor for the alignment or something different? I love taking newtons on the bike. It's one of my favorite snacks. It is hard to explain what she does but she normally touches me in 2 or 4 places in alternate spots...so it is balanced..she works on fascia sometimes... the big improvements can't be coincidence...it just feels easy to run now when it never has in the past. Sure running hard is tough but the movement feels easier if that makes sense. I did 5K 2 or 3 days after she worked on me on build week and had done one 3 weeks early on a rest week and I was 1:40 faster that is pretty difference. Over the last 18 months, I've been to two orthos, PT for 9 months two different ones, neurologist, family doc, chiropractor who did ART, rolfer, podiatrist, had orthotics made, and she is the first one that has really helped. I am with you on that!!! they wouldn't be so hard to avoid if they didn't taste so darn good. Oh great. now I am craving thin mints again... Its a good thing that they are at home and I am not. I think that I was thinking that the sooner they are gone the less i have to worry about them sitting there on the shelf. I didn't want them to go bad (those cookies go bad after about 2 weeks I hear not that a box ever lasts that long ) so thats my justification and I am sticking to it. I hate to waste food (especially cookies) and i didn't want them to go bad so I had to eat them quickly! |

Got in a decent swim today and a couple laps around my work loop at lunch today to run. It was so pretty out, I needed the mental break. Jen, You need to take care of yourself first. I think this qualifies for serious medical condition if he/she says surgery (though I hope that isn't the answer for your sake) |

I'm getting used to being off weekends and loving that part, just not used to working 5 days in a row yet. However, I do not miss the EMS phone, the alarms on the monitors, the call bells and other assorted sound effects associated with the emergency room. |
