I guess we are going to stay with Team 1 this month...  I like it, its kinda like telling off "the man"....  I'm not playing by your arbitrary set of rules anymore...  Power to the People!

Who exactly is "the man?" P.S. I never did play well by "the rules."

Technically, since this is your challenge, YOU are "the man"!

How about "Tased and Confused"?

Snow Devils is pretty good

Hello team! I thoroughly enjoyed reading al the previous posts... I definitely joined the right team!  I haven't been able to get to the spreadsheet to enter my goals.  Unfortunately, google spreadsheets are restricted by the company "internet police" so I just get an "ACCESS DENIED" message.  I will do it when I get home tonight.  Anyway, my goal is to get 5 tri-related workouts in each week.  Since there are 4 weeks this month, that'll be 20 workouts.  Pretty simple, huh?  And I love the team name "Tazed and Confused".  Let the games begin!

Homemade foccacia bread sandwich with olive relish, roasted chicken, dijon mustard and goat cheese - slightly heated.  Some ruffles, 4oz of soup, and some little oranges....

Dang now I'm hungry too...  Better eat a zone bar before I head to the gym....

I was just gonna chime in on how hungry I was and you beat me to it.  I was gonna run before lunch but NO WAY, I'd die!  What's everyone eating today?

Very funny Andy.  I already shoveled.

I am getting ready to run my 7 miles.  All dressed and almost ready to go.  I am debating using the Yak Trax.  My road is still covered in snow but I don't know what the other road looks like.  I'd hate to wear them and the main road be clear.

Okay, catch you all after my run.

I like Tased & Confused.

Lunch was a salad w/ lettuce, tomato, radish, pepper, garbanzo beans, and a little bit of feta, and Lean Cuisine Thai-style chicken. Not terribly inspired but I'm home with the monkeys today.

Getting ready to hit the trainer for a ride, will do strength session while Elder Monkey is in piano lessons at the Y.

Got my run done.  Here is a helpful hint.  Do not wear Yak Trax on a paved road.  They will hurt your feet.  5.25 out of my 7 mile run was on paved roads.  I cannot even begin to tell you how bad my feet are hurting right now.  Ugh.

Ouch!  I made that mistake once last year.  I ended up ditching the Yaks after that and taking my chances with the ice.

Especially since I hold a large taser collection, and plan on using it generously.

Plus, I like the name. Tased and Confused it is!

Although, actually, I think we should be Tased, FROZEN and confused.

There's no heat at work. And it's @#$#@ COLD in this building.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I thought about it but I knew that I would need them on my road.  In hindsight, I should have ditched them.  Oh well, live and learn.

I am still starving.  I had a baked potato for lunch and an apple after my run.  I am trying to cut my calories a bit to lose a few pounds but I am dying of starvation here.   Maybe I should go and drink more water.

My lunch hour workout....
Mile 1 - 8:27
Mile 2 - 8:11
Mile 3 - 7:56
Half mile recovery - 5:05
qtr mile cool down - 3:17.
Incline at 1.0 during run, 2.0 during recovery and cool down.

I was hoping for a four mile run, but the machines shuts you off at 30.  I was kinda tuckered/winded anyway.  How am I going to do a half marathon in 16 weeks?  Will update sheet later after I do PT and maybe Ab Ripper X.  I slept too late this a.m. to get it done.  It was also 2 degrees here and 16 below windchill I think.  I'd rather have the snow.

Oh - don't we need a captain(s) yet?

Is that the kind of pace you're hoping to hold for the half mary? You probably need to back off on the pace until you get your endurance/distance up.

I'm starving too.  I keep a jar of peanut butter at my desk but that doesn't seem very appealing.  I could go for a Friendly's Jim Dandy sundae right now!

Finally got my goals up and I need to get started.  Sorry for slacking off already this month - but I will do my best to get caught up ASAP.  Freezing here too, so I plan to hit the gym for a swim and run tonight.  I'm interested to see how crowded it is as I usually go during the day.  Keep Warm!

DISCLAIMER: I am not a nutritionist nor do I plan one on TV but that being said I am a SNACKER! My job keeps me on the road alot; my car acts more as an office than my office does so I have to snack ALOT! (or else the Golden Arches call my name and NO one wants that to happen!)

The best thing to add to an apple is a cheese stick - who am I kidding? cheese is the best thing to add to ANYTHING.  But seriously I have learned that no matter what the snack is, it needs to be BALANCED carb/fat/protein-wise in order to have hunger fighting power.

I saw peanut butter mentioned too and that is certainly one of my favorite early-morning-pre-run snacks, with a drop or two of honey just to sweeten it even more   And water is a HUGE deal - i know you know just sayin'... i love my new hydration belt (or fanny pack as F-O-H's sister called it when she saw it on my secret santa list )

i'm off to marinate some chicken for dinner - Rock on T & C Team!!!
