Deck runs are best early in the morning before the ship wakes up. Then grab a couple espresso's to take back to your cabin for breakfast. Thats my kind of negative calorie breakfast. |

So, it will be a healthy dinner cause I'm cooking. The gym will be open in the morning so I can swim and get a lift on before cooking. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Look at all these plans! We are having some friends over. It is really just another dinner here. I am cooking a mass of stuff that will be good for you stuff that I can have while others are eating the rest. I will have to have sum stuffing though. I plan on going running in the morning just to give myself motivation (not as much as being at an Ironman!) The next day will be the start of the decorating for Christmas. That is a two full day event here with lots of trips to the attic and down. I have signed up for some winter runs to keep me motivated through the winter as well. |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Down to 147.7 with my weigh in this morning!! My work stress has me hitting the gym for extra workouts! I slammed a medicine ball around last night after hitting the treadmill for some graduated intervals. Was very happy to see my legs cooperate with the tready because I was advised to avoid them by the PT. |

Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Wow! There's a lot of great, inspiring, Thanksgiving plans going on in this group! Have fun and enjoy! We're driving to our home in Montana and hoping there won't be too much snow in the passes. My eldest daughter is going to do most of the dinner and I'll be helping her once I get there. My plan is to run in the morning and then eat what I want, but in moderation. As long as I don't stuff myself, I'll consider it a success. |

I wish stress moved me to work out! I'm down 2 ozs, haha! 140.0 even. Could have been a different story as I've done nothing physical all week, but I've been a good girl eating well. I feel well enough to at least do Jillian Michael's Shred-It With Weights after work, and maybe a 3 mile walk with the girl. She's been asking for one. Have a great evening! |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Blanda - 2011-11-17 10:21 PM Tina, I spent literally 3 weeks fighting the IT department at work. They merged a munch of my software into a different folder and I swear these programs do not play well together. Every day for 3 weeks I had different issues. I would call them and get a "ticket" which the tech would resolve by resetting my profile.....that would allow me into the programs but not give me full functional use of the main one. I was getting knocked off my secure server so badly that I gave my cell number to people to call me back. I estimated losing close to 20 hours of productive time in the past 3 weeks because of this.....So when I went to the gym the other night I threw that medicine ball around like I was aiming it at them. Highly therapeutic, what I did for therapy when I wasn't allowed to run last year.RoniS - 2011-11-17 2:29 PM QueenZipp - 2011-11-17 9:18 AM Down to 147.7 with my weigh in this morning!! I finally had a tech listen to me enough yesterday to figure out the problems. It's fixed and I am happy to be sitting home in my yoga pants on my fit ball all day with my cats wandering in & out of the room. |

Master 1480 Southwest Chicago 'burbs | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Bad week. Doh. The good news? I'm down 2 pounds! The bad news... that's from being UP 5 pounds from last week's weigh-in. So - net change from last week - up 3 pounds. *sigh* Sometimes I have a hard time with the math, though. Literally, in two days I put on 5 pounds. So - I ate an extra 15,500+ calories over those two days. I have no idea how that's even POSSIBLE. Yes, I drank. Yes, I ate too much. But THAT much? Let's do some math here....(severely rounding up in all cases) Saturday: breakfast - 1000 calories, lunch - 1000 calories, dinner - 2000 calories, 8 drinks - 2000 calories So - I ate 11,500 calories (again, that's a total over-estimate, but let's go with it). Each day I would burn 2000 calories by simply existing. Saturday morning I ran a 10k which we'll say burned an additional 500 calories. So: 11,500 eaten - 4,000 burned - 500 run = 7,000 calories. Two pounds. Don't mind me, I'm just venting. And feeling completely responsible for the 5 pounds gained - it's not like I was trying to eat healthy. But I really don't get it, if it really is calories in, calories out. *sigh* Back on the wagon... |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Same as last week for me. I find that a win since I have done NOTHING and been in a funk. Time to Buck up Buttercup! Laura, sadly, it really isn't calories in v. calories out over the short term. Our bodies are pretty amazing and complex and react to the KIND of food as well as the quantity of food. eg. holding water when eating salty foods, letting go of excess water when eating foods that act like diuretics. There are lots of other complex "reactions' going on in there. That is why you can eat 230 calories of salty fries v 230 calories of vegetables and "gain" weight the next day. The other factor is getting the building blocks (nutrition) you need along with the calories in v calories out. That is where "eating clean" comes in. Knowing all this and consistently practicing all this is the hard part! |

Veteran 323 Sandusky, OH | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays 153 on the scale at the work fitness center... I was dreading going back b/c to use the facility you have to get weighed and measured every 3 months. I didn't mind when I was IM training but since then I've been dodging it. Not too bad though- waist 26in hips 38in These numbers never really seem to change.... |
