Subject: RE: What's the coolest thing you've ever done outside of triathlon? That shark picture is exactly what I jumped into. More of a mix of reef, white, bull and hammer heads, but still infested with waters. Also, Tiger sharks follow whales so I encountered one of those as well (different dive ). Tiger's are more aggressive than GW so the dive master knew what to do, which was get low and don't move. It got within 20 feet which almost caused me to soil my shorts. Despite that the scariest for me was running into Barrecuda's (sp ). The dive master warned they are protective of their territory, yet failed to mentioned what they considered their territory. Was it the ocean or just the area they are in. During dive training years before, we were taught those fish move at the speed of light and will 'nibble' if they feel threatened and all out attack if need be. Just how they rotate in the water watching you freaked me out. The rock climbing pictures make me miss doing that. By in HS, I had a friend experience a fatal fall while we were climbing and I've never climbed since. Miss it but I don't think I could do it again. My mind would replay that day over and over again. |
