I do have a 10 heard old little girl that I'm very proud of, seeing her happy and knowing that Im being a good dad is a pretty cool thing I guess! Other than going to some cool places and doing some fun things, I don't have much else in the mind blowing cool department....one day though I'm gonna wow some people!
You obviously wow your daughter. I promise you, there's nothing in this thread that tops that.

I got to fly in a Russian mig a few years ago.  We did lots of trick maneuvers AND I didn't throw up!!!

Tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus.  I was preparing to go to Afghanistan, but the injury ended my military career.  Moved home, and was able to re-connect with my wonderful girlfriend.  She took care of me after my surgery, and we're getting married this summer.

First post...

  • Raising 4 kids (14 years, 8, 6 and 16 months) with my beautiful wife.
  • Started and successfully sold a company back during the dot com boom (no, I didn't make enough to retire!)
  • Spent 13 years racing cars both professionally and with club racers.
  • Won the One Lap of America a few years ago (look it up!)
  • Raced an Indy car at 200mph+
  • Visited 48 of the 50 states (missing Idaho and Montana)
  • Lived in Greece back in the early 90s
  • Took aerobatic flight lessons (learned how to do a lumshevak)
  • But most of all - I signed up for my first Triathlon that will happen in June of this year!!!!

First post...

Hiked up a Nicaraguan volcano (inactive) and spent a week in a tent in the jungle (no running water = no showers, hot food, etc.) conducting population census on monkeys.... twice!  Life changing experiences!  Some may call it dirty, I call it the coolest things I've ever done!

This was a really fun trip.  Zion National Park in Utah, spent the night up on the wall under the stars.  Nothing beats sleeping on a portaledge 1000 feet off the deck!  Probably the next coolest thing was in college when a buddy and I drove out to Devil's Tower to climb it for our first time.  Biggest thing we had both done at the time.

I spent 8 months (over winter season) of 2007 at McMurdo Station, Antarctica collecting data on the ozone hole.  Literally and figuratively the coolest thing I've done.

Rode a bicycle 415 miles in 24 hours to finish 3rd out of 12,000 people in the Pepsi Challenge in the late 70's.

Had a hockey scrimmage with Gordie Howe.

That shark picture is exactly what I jumped into.  More of a mix of reef, white, bull and hammer heads, but still infested with waters.  Also, Tiger sharks follow whales so I encountered one of those as well (different dive).  Tiger's are more aggressive than GW so the dive master knew what to do, which was get low and don't move.  It got within 20 feet which almost caused me to soil my shorts.  

Despite that the scariest for me was running into Barrecuda's (sp).  The dive master warned they are protective of their territory, yet failed to mentioned what they considered their territory.  Was it the ocean or just the area they are in.  During dive training years before, we were taught those fish move at the speed of light and will 'nibble' if they feel threatened and all out attack if need be.  Just how they rotate in the water watching you freaked me out.  

The rock climbing pictures make me miss doing that.  By in HS, I had a friend experience a fatal fall while we were climbing and I've never climbed since.  Miss it but I don't think I could do it again.  My mind would replay that day over and over again.
