I'm at 129.2. My goal for today was 129 so I'm happy with that.

I ran 8 miles to work this morning (left my pre-packed gym bag at my desk yesterday - luckily we have a gym on campus). It's so nice to not have to do your long run on the weekend.

My husband and I are going out to eat tonight. I'm sure it will be challenging, but I'm going to try really hard to make good food choices. Just need to focus on how I want to feel tomorrow morning!

Last Week 216.2, This week 213.4 - not sure where that came from, the only thing I  have really stuck with is the PB avoidance.

Does that stand for peanut butter???? I think my husband would drop three pounds a week if he cut peanut butter out of his diet.

Yesterday I was down 1.5 from Tuesday's wt.....but still up from last weeks wt.  I am thinking the gym scale may not be calibrated so well.  I may have to get my own....

RANT!!!  F-ING COLD!!!  I'm at 138, up 3 pounds since Saturday!  I'm hoping this is just the sodium in the soups, so I'm giving those up and still not feeling great.  Soooo pissed!  Tired of no training...walked on the dreadmill for a bit this morning and did some body weight stuff.

Yeah, I have been know to eat peanut butter like ice cream.  We will test the theory and see if I drop another 2.8 this week

233lbs and steady. Could be any number of reasons for stagnating, but more important is the fact that as my runs get longer, my pace stays constant!

Subject: RE: DOWN for 2013 - New Year New You!
What happens when you get smug about losing weight and being good about food tracking...life comes and bites you in the bottom.

Normal protein breakfast and then went to a meeting at daughters' schools. A couple of the moms are going out for bagels after the meeting and I join them and I foolishly engage in bagel eating. (Now, going out for bagels with the moms actually turned out to be a blessing, because I was only 5 minutes from the school instead of the 30 minutes I normally am ...keep reading)

During the bagel eating, my phone rings - it's the school. Younger daughter has slammed finger in door, very deep, won't stop bleeding. Thank goodness I'm only 5 minutes away instead of 30. Drive to ER and spend the next 2 hours - xrays, skin glue, the works.

And now I'm ravenous and poor daughter #2 has been a trooper...so we stop for Chic-Fil-A which is like crack to me.

(And I can promise you I'll have a glass of wine or a beer tonight...)

So, after my normal breakfast, I ended up eating both bagels AND Chic-Fil-A. Holey crap. I'm skipping logging my food today in my blog and on MFP because it's just too painful. I know how painful it is. And I can't do it.

So. I vow to no longer be smug when I lose weight. Because I can't have another one of these days.

Abbie, sorry to hear about the week.  Sometime when it rains it pours.  Illness is a definite curse to maintaining or losing.  I think mostly because it robs your will to care about it.  You don't feel good, and nothing else really matters other than feeling better.  I know I have been sick before where I would have eaten a dozen donuts if it would have cured me.

Jim, plateus suck.  But extending your runs while maintaining your pace IS something to get excited about.  The weight can't hold out forever.

Kristen, sorry to hear about your daughter, hope the finger is okay.  I've had days like that before.  Mine usually start out with "oh I'll just eat this one such and such, and run a little longer tonight....and before I know it I've fallen down the rabbit hole and have blown my caloric goal to bits in the process."  Personally I always log it, painful....yes, irritating.....you bet, but in my opinion absolutely necessary if for no other reason than to see how snap judgements in the spur of the moment lead to nutritional failures on a massive scale.

Its a new week though folks and time to bear down once again.  Train strong, stay strong.

My weight just shot up from 158 so not celebrating yet. Glad it's going in right direction, but I have will have to stay vigilant on keeping my food clean. Have been juicing, need to add some protein powder in somewhere - stuck to plan and came in at 9% protein for the day.

TriToy - I'm liking the drinks in Bailey's The Juice Diet. Not super low cal., lots of apples and other fruit, but tons of veggies. Throwing in some almonds, carrots with hummus I'm at 1200 cal. and think I can keep it up. If you keep doing what you are doing you will lose weight - it's just nature. My problem is that go back to poor eating habits and gain it all back.

Congratulations to all you losers out there!

Good on diet, didn't get a workout in. Damn - tomorrow doing both!

Ah, damn you work travel for 3 days. 216->214->216 capped off with some stress eating/cheat. Oh well, really not concerned as long as I keep up the training. Tomorrow is a new day.

Oh, believe me, I know.  I'm not so much worried about losing weight as I am about losing fat.  Find a guy who stands 6' tall and weighs 233lbs at 10 to 12 %BF.  Stand him next to me at my 6', 233lbs, and 18ish %BF.  Display us in front of a group of women and see which of us gets stared at the most.  I'd lose.  That's what I intend to fix.  Where I would like to weigh in around 225lbs, I'd rather be at about 10 to 12% body fat and be able to kick a$$ and take names in the Clydesdale division of any triathlon I enter.  Whether I'm accomplishing these while weighing 225lbs or 2225lbs is of no concern to me; just that I'm doing them.

:-)

Good point. I've seen skinny, flabby women. Body composition is important.

I am going to jump on board here, I have been weighin in on Sundays...but ill switch it up to Wednesdays.

Jan 1 - 242

Jan 6 - 235.6

Jan 13 - 231 !!

Pretty happy so far on the "Squeaky Clean Paleo" meal  plan from the 'Practical Paleo' book. Going to keep that going for a month, and then start incorporating a cheat meal or two/ week, but still remaining mainly paleo.

I am really liking how full I feel, and how cravings seem to have disapeared. Still have to cut back on the Caffeine though.

One way to give up G2 (lite Gatorade) FOREVER - get a nasty bottle.

I was running late yesterday - sprinting in from a run to get daughter to soccer practice, so I just grabbed an old (and yes, the key is old) G2 from the pantry. Get in the car and start driving her, open the bottle & start drinking & get a nasty sip. Ugh - mold. In the bottle. Spit it out all over the steering wheel of the car, etc. Ewwwwww.

I will live the rest of my life without drinking another G2. And since the primary G2 consumer in my house was with me, she has been warned not to put the flavors she doesn't like behind the new bottles - finish the old stuff first, girlfriend, or you'll get moldy G2 at soccer. :p

Ewwww!!!! Did you take it back to the Store?

I'm still dealing with illness.  Staying off of the sweets, but have been having some bread.  Body is craving odd things during this plague.  I want pizza!  I don't even eat cheese,so no clue what is going on.  I have not eaten a salad in a week, I usually eat salad 2x a day!  With this illness I just want hot food, the thought of cold food is just not appetizing.  Such a bummer.

Day 5 of juice fast (not really a fast, with salad for lunch and veggie soup for dinner I'm getting 1000 - 1200 cals - but a lot less than I could get with eating).
Two days of juices in cooler, have cooler in back of car with juices so I can take some with me and purchased a cool new plastic cup with built in straw so I can sip in public as the juices are in canning jars.

Cool beans...

It's definitely slow going in the losing weight department, but I'm going to continue to stick to it. I haven't been perfect, but even when I'm "bad", I'm trying to be less bad than I would have been normally. I was 132 this morning, which is up 2 lbs from last Thursday, but I was suspect of the 130 I saw then, since I had gone from 133 that Tuesday to 130 in just two days, so it seemed like water weight to me. At least I'm staying in the low 130s, so I'm not gaining weight, I just need to push a bit harder to get it back in the 120s!

I thought this quote was amusing....although not really true for me as I like eating most healthy things!

Mark Twain...."The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you don't like, and do what you'd rather not"
