Day 3 complete. Had to do it at 11PM, was afraid I might lose my late Subway dinner in the middle of a plank of I did it any earlier.

Damn, I wish I could still fit Bikram yoga in my schedule regularly...or that I could even do it at the moment due to my calf!

I love hot yoga too Brad--hope that calf is getting better!

Lots of you are being awfully quiet.  I hope that means you are just busy, having fun, and doing lots of core work, and not because you've bailed on the challenge.  Let us know how it's going!

We've given a lot of attention to abs, but I thought I'd throw out one of my favorite back exercises today.  The video labels this as an "advanced" move, but only the third exercise in the sequence is "advanced,"  the other two are beginner-intermediate.  I like how this helps not only with back, specifically erector spinae, but it's also great for the glutes, abs, abductors, hamstrings, and calf muscles.

day 3 done last night while watching MasterChef...nothing like drooling over really good looking food (they were making macaroon's) while cursing while doing workouts - cooking shows for motivation are only topped by Shemar Moore

I'm here. I'm just doing random stuff throughout my day: planks, handstands, practicing pistols, etc. 10min is a long time! Some days it's going to be tough!

Race days: Does that count as core work, if I'm running for 5-12hrs?!?!

I was thinking about race days too.  I think we could grant a race day exception.  Wait a second...you do handstands in your races!

LMAO!

yeah, but I'm NOT doing 10min of handstands in the race. No way.

Now, anything less than a marathon (and I don't do races less than a marathon), I'd still do core. I'm talking about long stuff. For you triathletes (phsaw), anything less than a HIM leaves tons of time for core!

I'm cool with that--any race longer than 4 hours gives you core exemption for the day.

ETA:  If you do sub four hour marathons you can still work in your 10 minutes.  No, no exceptions! <whip-crack>

Day 1 hurt my abs so much I scaled back day two and three... My plan is to add back the minutes lost later in the challenge...

I focused too much on the abs and not enough on the rest of the core... Lessen learned..!!

HAHAHA!

When I was active duty, I had one of those "cush" jobs in the hospital. No rings for us, but we did have a gym in the basement I used at lunch. And since I was active duty, no one thought twice of me doing lunges up and down the halls or squats in between patients. Can't get away with that at a civilian place!

One of the good benefits is being able to get away for a bit and knock out a short workout. You are right, can t really do that in many other jobs!
