Sad news an old friend in the UK has just had a ten hour surgery for mouth cancer. Hoping she's on the road to recovery.Scooby has a limp so is resting from walkers in fact I think we may have to visit the vet. Dammit he just has no sense of pacing!!! Oh check out this pic from my Tri club left to right Nicki Alan and me without them never heard of triathlon let alone ironman! Girl on the right is Bronwyn who cheats that's all I will say about her. I don't comprehend the giving up sugars statement, other than that, great job! I cannot believe what an addiction it is - I'm a chocoholic so for me this is major. For three days I've felt like i had the flu, headache chills etc. Craved some chocolate or lemonade to make it go away. But two days after I feel great. I've started back on fruit, just berries at the moment and they taste so sweet like they are artificial! It's bizarre! You rock Jo! Dehydrated pineapple chunks is something I recently discovered. |

Veteran 1100 Dayton | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors 2013: CLOSED (exc/ Pop Tart bribes) Did a one mile walk this morning, and two miles this evening. Feel pretty good. I feel some renewed running before long. But was still not feeling well enough to get out for the masters swim tonight. Hopefully I'll get my ride in tomorrow. An americano is practically the same thing as black coffee, so I think that makes us both simple (minded) |

I would prefer to use sugar than artificial sweetener....for the measly 17cals you get from one teaspoon it's probably better than the sweetener... And it's easy to cut down, 3/4 of a tsp, 1/2 tsp, 1/4tsp then gone! |

I had a fun day at work--a new clinic I am helping out for a couple of weeks while someone is on holidays. I got smeared with anal glad juice. Then a nice kitty tried to help me out by rinsing it off with her pee. Sigh. At least it was towards the end of the day. As we were walking out, the vet says "Are you coming back tomorrow?" Ha ha. If I can't deal with it, I am in the wrong business! |

New user 53 Knoxville | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors 2013: CLOSED (exc/ Pop Tart bribes) Originally posted by 4agoodlife Sigh. I just emailed the race director because TONS of splits are still missing from Sunday morning. Our overall times are in, but there are mistakes (like one guy ran the "5k" in 6:45) which throw everything off. Lots of people only have their bike time. Frustrating when you spend $100+. Anyone else have this kind of issue with a race company? Only being my 3rd tri, is this a more common issue than I would think? Yes, actually. At my very first tri, where I know I killed the transitions, I got nothing. Just my overall time. I was so disappointed. It never occurred to me to ask them to look into it. Several people only got their overall times reported. I chalked it up to faulty chips, but still.... |

I will call it my "everything but the kitchen sink" recipe: water, 1 stalk celery, 1 carrot, 1 banana, 1/2 lemon juice, 2 handfuls of spinach, 1 handful of kale, 1 mini cucumber, 1 tbsp chia, 1 tbsp hemp seed, 2 tbsp flax seed, good shake of cinnamon. It is a bit of heaven in a mason jar!! |

Need to loosen them up some and just get more comfortable with the terrain in general. I could sense myself learning as I tried new things and was (or wasn't) successful. I'll get there. After about the third biff I was ready to quit, but that's just not my style. So I got back on and kept at it. Had a great time on the zip lines! Def a must do in Moab! We were with a family from Sydney.. Now the voice in my head has an Aussie accent :-D Awesome!!!! |

The race organization that Jen and I avoid is famous for being late with results and having mess ups. At the race we did in February the half marathon course was poorly laid out--marked even worse and there were no show volunteers due to craptastic weather. Several lead runners wound up cutting the course short so she never figured out who actually won the race.
Yep, this is a seasoned RD.....we hate doing her events. ALWAYS bugged up. |
