Sensei ![]() | ![]() Originally posted by lisac957 Happy happy Friday! Wow, that's warm for there. Same as here (well, we may be up to 65). I have a 75 minute ride which is right on the edge of outdoor v indoor riding. Getting the bike ready and bundling up for an hour outside is not worth the effort so I usually just jump on the trainer. 90 minutes? I would ride my usual 26 mile out and back. But 75 minutes? Hard to decide. |

Nothing every turned out well... The don't brown, they don't bake, they don't cook evenly... Just hard. I use it to boil small amounts of water or melt butter or chocolate or heat milk... I probably use it more than I think and fell it's absence, but it's hard to make a dish ONLY using it. More a prep tool or leftovers! The world of popcorn changed because of it. HOWEVER, people forget how good popcorn can be when you air pop or pop on the stove top with fresh kernels. |

The world also became filled with the smell of burnt popcorn from those who don't know how to microwave popcorn! Major pep peeve of my in the office environment. Fortunately technology came to the rescue with the "sensor" microwave ovens that can pop the perfect bag of popcorn. I was very very leery of this util I tried it, now I can pop the perfect bag at home without hovering over the microwave counting the kernel pops... |

Air pop sucks big time. But stove top? Yeah; that's the schnozzle. Everything else gets too dry and Styrofoam like. |

Cooking for one sucks. There's just about no such thing as a recipe that serves one, and shopping without overbuying and ending up throwing away a bunch of stuff is nearly impossible.
Homemade yogurt follow-up: The schtuff is awesome. Ten hours in the maker and it comes out pretty much PERFECT. I have a feeling that I'll be making this stuff at least once, of not twice a week (the girlfriend and her daughters eat that much yogurt). 42 oz of yogurt for the cost of half gallon of milk? Oh yeah |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Started taking down xmas decorations, watched some sad movie about a guy losing his wife to cancer, got teared up. Finished taking down xmas decorations, wife and daughter went shopping, 17 year old son ate, Lacrosse practice, ate, helped me, ate, slept 3 hours and ate again. I going for a run and post it on Strava. Can't wait to swim hopefully next week will wear wet suit at Zilker or Deep Eddy. Planning a long bike ride on Sunday.......thats it. I just hit the big 50. What should I do? |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Witnessed a 4 car pile up this afternoon. It started raining hard, car 1 hits the brakes and the next 3 couldn't stop in time. Car 4 starts smoking, the guy driving and a girl get out. She decides to go back for their shopping bags and he yells "grab my hat". Mind you; there are flames coming from under the car. Me and another driver are yelling for her nit to, but she goes anyway. Way to close for comfort. |
