I just started a topic like this in tri-talk to get advice. I also have high-inflexible arches. I've been running in Miz. Wave Inspire 4's (the stability version because the shop that fitted that shoe said I pronate). The new shop says I don't pronate and need to be in regular shoes, and that the Mizuno's are a bad choice for me because the plate that's in them pushes too much weight to the outside of the foot. They said with high, stiff arches that that was the last thing I needed. Good luck finding a shoe that works for you. I'm heading out tonight to do the same thing.

I just got fitted for Mizuno's last night (Wave Alchemy).  I think the guy at the store was floored by how much I pronate.  I never really thought I pronated when I ran, but now I think it's just that I severely pronate when I walk, and pronate moderately when I run, so relatively it didn't seem that bad to me.  I'm really eager to test them out as soon as my calf calms down.

Stephanie if you're still here, we are all praying and pulling for your husband. Sprint (Dan) and I actually had a chance to spend some time with John on Sunday.  It's hard to believe things have changed so rapidly.  We'll be here if you need us.

Good luck with them, they feel completely different from any other shoe I have used, and I guess for me that wasn't a good thing.

Morning Cami. I like my sleep in 8 hour blocks. Ended up coming home late from Dubuque.

What were you doing so late in Dubuque, huh?  Sorry about the lack of sleep.

Went to dinner with the girl I've been talking to lately.   Left around 11, so I got back here at 1230ish.

Dubuque a happenin place?

this may be a TAN drive-by, but watch what you say about my hometown!

Born, raised and escaped from Dubuque, IA.  And no, not a happenin' place, unless you like (1) greyhound racing; (2) riverboat gambling; (3) Old Stallone movies; and/or (4) PBR.

Good Morning.  I don't actually belong here.  My name is Stephanie and John Wright is my husband.  He asked me to come into your room and let you know that he was rushed into surgery this morning for an unspecified internal problem.  Hopefully they will take care of it and find out what is causing it quickly.  At this point, his transplanted organs are in danger and his life may also be.

He was perfectly fine until late Sunday night when he woke up very ill.  He thought he had the flu or food poisoning, so he treated himself for that and stayed home from work on Monday.  At about noon he had been getting sick for almost 10 hours, so he called his doctor and the doctor also suspected food poisoning.  He called in a prescription to help him settle his stomach and told him to call back if it did not work.

He was admitted to the hospital around 7 PM last night and they started doing a lot of tests and taking a great deal of blood.  They came back this morning at around 5:30 and said that they were taking him to surgery, that there was something going on internally, but the tests to find out exactly what it was would take too long to save his organs if they were being attacked.  They asked for permission to operate immediately and I granted it.

That, really, is all I know right now.  He has been in surgery for about 3 hours and they just came out and told me that I should go eat and take a walk or something because it was going to be another three or four before I could talk to the surgeon.

On his way into surgery, he asked me to get on this website and tell you all goodbye.  That really scares me because it was as if he knew he wasn;t going to make it, and after all of the surgeries he has been through, he has never had that attitude.  I am not sure who all of you are, but he must think highly of you.  That should make you proud, as he is a great man.  Please pray for him.

WHAT??? I was just going to message him and tell him thanks for the sushi gift certificate that I used last night. This makes me very sad. I really really hope he's OK!!!

Where you down by the Julien?  I remember there being some revitilzation going on down there.

Not sure when you moved to the Quad Cities, but do you remember a microbrew bar near the John Deere museum in Moline called Bent River Brewery?

Yep, I've been to Bent River Brewery.  Not bad beer at all.  I just moved here roughly 2 years ago.
