Asalzwed - 2013-02-28 11:49 AM Holy sheet, last day of February! Are you kidding me!?!?!

I know, huh?  We have half a day to get in nine pages of conversation!

I'm doing a 5k bright and early this freezy Sunday morning.  I'm shooting for a PR on this one.  It'll also act as a baseline for 5ks for the rest of the year.

Which thing makes me wonder if I really want to play soccer this Saturday night....

Have fun with that PR. As for soccer the night before, you know what pod says...or do you want a different answer?

There is a thread in TT about using a gps tracking device from myathletelive.com to make it easier for friends/family to track during a race. I might use one to make it easier for DH to know when/where I will be passing by. If I order one it'll make it easier for Manatees to track me too.

I am really impressed with the diverse group that we have in the pod. Everything including Vet techs, zookeepers, truck driving salesmen, professors, law enforcement, IT, designers, armed forces and health care, yep we are quite a cross section of the world. I love that we have people from all walks of life and all parts of the world. I'll probably be throwing out some more non-training types of questions over the next few weeks. For me, life is about the relationships that we develop as we go along, and this is just one more opportunity for me to meet people, embrace the differences and grow as a human. So, I thank you all for indulging me.

"Don't let the scars in life define you, they are there to help you develop." Have a great day everyone!

BTW, I have my Yanti watching set for Friday. I will be taking a late lunch to see the start. I haven't been able to find it streaming anywhere yet, but I'm gonna hunt for it tonight when I get home. If it isn't streaming, I'll be stalking watching her bib # and seeing where she is on the course.

And the occasional SAHM   You're welcome. lol

I don't know how you do it! I go crazy just over the weekend sometimes.

I'm taking it easy this weekend.  DH is off to a bachelor party in DC playing crazy nerdy board games, so I'll be hanging out with little Miss E.  Also, my foot tattoo got finished today!  Check it out. I'm totally in love with it.

I am sorry! I thought of the people I would be leaving out when I wrote it up and I was thinking, "Man, I don't wanna step on anyone's toes, I hope I remember them all." Sure enough, I leave someone (probably more then one) out. OUCH!!!

BTW, your current job is the most important one I can think of. If being a mom was easy, they'd call it triathlon

Leave out? I'm hardly left out. The pod takes good care of this mommy Totally giving you a bad time! Thank you for taking the time to learn about us.

You're welcome. More questions to follow...

BTW, how goes the prep for your HM in March?

HM? What? who put that on there? Hehehe. It will be interesting. Seems like I've been doing more 5-8/9mi runs than last year where I did mostly 3-5mi and a couple 11-12 just to see if I could do distance. I'm definitely not scared of it this time. DH was laughing the other night. Told me he was proud that I pushed him to sign us up with just two week's notice when last year I needed three months.

Getting a tat on your foot has to hurt. Even so, I might consider it if I could be guaranteed that fish tats on my feet would make me a fish in the water!

My son is #6. From the Frostbite 5k we did  on February 18

ETA: Well, I tried to link a picture here, but it's not working. I uploaded pictures on to my Frostebite 5k race report. I mostly wanted to brag about my son. He ran with his friend and the photographer took their picture three times. Hooray!!! My son is #6.

There's also a couple pictures of me. I tried waving this time, and then she also got a belly shot of me at the beginning next to a really cute little boy.

Your wave pic is adorable. And Ben rocks! Looks like he's got great running form (not that I'm any judge of proper form, he just looks fast!)

Oh we have quite a few half marathons coming up then!  It's my first, any tips?  My current longest distance is only 9 miles but I figure I will get a 10-11 miler in there somewhere before the race.  Right now I'm just trying to blow this crap out of my lungs.

Great tattoo Jen, that turquoise really does have a sort of shimmer to it.

That's all well and good until I start competing with my friend who's also running :D

I'll make sure to soak it all in though.  It's a St. Patties Day run, there best be beer at the end.
