Yeah so I complain that I'm gaining weight then go eat a bunch of unhealthy Tex-Mex for lunch because a person is leaving the company. I'm so weak-willed when it comes to food. I need to get my diet in order. TAN is full of borderline Tri pros! I'm not worthy! I hope everyone's weekend was good and starting up the week on a good note. All the family is gone (after a month) as of Sat. A sense of relief swept over me after that flight took off... Have a good one, everybody. Dito... I actually got Tala back... She turned into daughter Tala for a month instead of wife Tala... That's kinky. ETA: Actually, now that I think of it, that's pretty gross dude. Get your house in order. By September. I may need a place to stay after kicking Cord's for being a dbag. Edited by mr2tony 2013-08-05 1:59 PM |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN#200: BicenTANial Bliss! TAN question. What's your favorite form of artistic expression? Is there such a thing as a favorite?
Music? Dance? Art (painting/sculpture), poetry, writing? I might say music is my favorite, but I would be hard pressed to say I could do without the amazing things that have been written. I'm not a big poetry fan, and I love art, but I think I would miss Mozart more than the Mona Lisa... |

Me too but I am all about the singing. Being as awesome a singer as I am (you should hear me on karaoke night!) I would be lost if I weren't able to belt out the melodioish tunes every day. I should do it for a living but I'm too old to switch careers. |

Dance has moved me, but many times is because of the music it was associated with. Written word and acting (plays/tv/movies) have similar effect. My wife cried when I showed her a documentary that read THIS letter as part of the closing. The gettysburg_address still moves me. Crazy thing is, many people critisized it as being a poor speech at the time... It's perfect, IMO. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN#200: BicenTANial Bliss! My new "favorite" person is Abraham Lincoln. Been sort of digging into what a great man he was. Many of his quotes are snarky, but factual observations. I probably would have called him a smart arse at times. Love it. For example: Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it, "all men are created equal except negroes." When the Know-nothings get control, it will read, "all men are created equal except negroes and foreigners and Catholics." When it comes to this, I shall prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty--to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy. ABRAHAM LINCOLN, letter to Joshua F. Speed, Aug. 24, 1855 |

Now THAT is a kick-azz quote. Sadly, it sucks to say that not much has changed since his day. |

I'm not a big poetry fan, and I love art, but I think I would miss Mozart more than the Mona Lisa... Kido - That is really a tough one. I would probably have to say music, as I have been playing music for about 40 years, if you consider the saxophone that I started in elementary school. There are certain types of music that I don't listen to, because I just don't like it. Just like there are certain types of art that amaze me and other things that I look at and wonder why someone pays $50,000.00 for paint thrown on a canvas. But after making different things (art?) from the wire that I use, I also understand how many hours go into making certain things and understand why people ask the price they do. When I see lower priced things at some of the "art" shows, I also can see that some of the things are made in bulk and others that are being purchased and resold. People who can write novels and poetry are amazing also, but that is not something I like as well as music or visual art.

Alpharetta, Georgia | Subject: RE: TAN#200: BicenTANial Bliss! TAN I had to monitor a city council meeting this morning and the first item on the agenda was recognition of National Clown Week. A group of clowns came up to the podium, rambled about something dumb, and made balloon animals for the mayor. I can't make this stuff up. |
