Is next weekend a long weekend for you people too?

where "You People" = Americans

Yep, it's an official three day weekend for me, instead of my normal three day weekend.

Instead of waiting for a reply - here goes.

Anyone watch the movie "Transformers"?

There is a scene in the desert that they are fighting a large mechanical scorpion. They fly in a gunship that has a HUGE gun in the side that the call in for an airstrike. I think they called it a "Saber" round?

First of all, do we have such an awesome piece of weaponry? Or is it movie magic? What is the name? I wanted to look it up and get the specs....

heh, I guess I got three replies before I het "submit"

It's known as a "Sabot" round, and yes, it does exist. Maybe not in the way portrayed in the flick (haven't seen it), but she's real,Captain. http://www.army-technology.com/contractors/ammunition/apfsds.htm[/Q... already been answered, but I just wanted to throw in my comment of "I love that freakin' movie..."

It's one of my trainer ride favorites.

Lalalala ... I'm bored. And don't feel good. I have a doc's appt at 4 to get some industrial strength expectorant to clear out the crap. Then I'm off for my 20-mile/30-minute brick. Another brick on Thursday and then the long one on Sunday. I hope I'm better. I honestly think I have walking pneumonia.

Sprint_DA - 2008-05-13 10:43 AM Is it a bad idea to schedule races on three consecutive weekends? I'm considering doing that at the end of July/beginning of August. '

I guess that depends on your ... goals, fitness, expectations etc. I think it sounds fun, but I don't like, race to place. =)

My goal is basically boredom prevention. I'm a bit worried about hurting myself at some point, but I'll have to deal with that if/when it happens.

Does it help that I'm swimming with one arm because I cut the other one off on a dare?

I will HTFU, thx for the reminder (d!ck)
I got sleeveless because I kept reading that if you are a 'swimmer' or have a swimming background the sleeves on a full wetsuit will restrict your range of motion just enough to annoy the crap out of you. Can't have that.

the worst part is putting in your hands.. THEN the worst part is your face.. and then you start swimming and you focus on your sighting and you are done.

Don't be scarit.. you'll be fine.

how warm is it in Kansas???  I swam three weeks ago and it was still SNOWING here. Pehaps only a HTFU is in order.

HTFU.

And find someplace warmer to live, Canuck.

High of 72 today.
All I know is that the water in the IMKS lake a week and a half ago was 50 degrees-ish.
OK, HTFU-ing.
