Ahhh,

Two workouts, two successful meetings, and a lunch from Panda Express - all before 1:00.  I'm feeling content....

Have fun. I need to ride this week - not sure when that is gonna happen, though, until the weekend.

cami bee - 2008-07-29 3:41 PM JD do you know anything about the Trihawks triathlon? Is it hilly?

Crowny and I are both doing it. Swim is easy out and back - lake is nice and fairly calm. Bike and run are fairly hilly, with no big hills. The set-up at coralville is that the reservoir is at the bottom of a basin (thus a reservoir) and so you have to take a hil to get out of there. Not a lot you can do about it. The rest is pretty rolling hills - but there isn't a lot of flat anywhere around there.

Their website sucks and I cannot get to a map of the course to tell you exactly about it (I used to hang there all of the time in college).

Yeah, I'm on the fence.  I pulled my hamstring this May going up hill (I wasn't even riding yet, just heading out of town but wasn't warmed up), and as a result I feel the weakness the most when climbing.  Also, my hill climbing sucked to begin with.  But it's pretty much the only sprint in Sept within a reasonable driving distance.  Hmm. Decisions.

I'm riding tonight - probably in the rain. It's been on and off all day but nothing severe (fingers crossed).

I rode last night and accidentally left my bike helmet and shoes in the car overnight. OMG... my car stinks so bad! And I just read the thread yesterday about washing your helmet and bike shoes. Must.Do.Tonight.

I am doing a Tabata ride - so it is indoors - 14 minutes of hell.

I sent an email to the race director telling him to fix the frekin' map.  I can look at it when he gets back to me and tell you how hilly it is.

Thanks JD.  I've read the RR's here (and some other places) and it seems pretty hilly.  It's not that I'm a wuss (even though I am slow), I just don't want to set myself back.  Unless the course changes drastically from last year, I probably won't do it (unless I relay).

Thanks all. I'm doing well. Had mom's funeral Saturday so I took a couple days off work to decompress and get some of her affairs in order. Looks like it's gonna be a long long haul getting her estate settled.

hey how are you?

So. I just went for a 13.3 mile run. Tried for 13.1 but I misjudged. It took me nearly 2 hours. But it's hot. And I was all sweaty (brown chicken brown cow!). And I'm now tan, TAN!!!

Offer still stands for  you to come down to the South Burbs on a Saturday or Sunday and do a long ride with me.  Get your mind off things, and such.

Appreciate it. I may take you up on that offer when I get back. We're going to Colorado starting Friday through the following Sunday. Gonna ride mountains and maybe meet the elusive Regimom. Maybe.
