She looks so beautiful and perfect and fresh and new and pink, and papa looks mighty proud!  Big congrats, Jonathan!

That's such a sweet way to describe her, Melanie!  Your description made me smile.

WOOT WOOT WOOT!  Congratulations upon the event!

I might not have the time to respond as often as I'd like, but this bears hooting about!

Enjoy the ride.

That is the best picture on the planet

May you still love her this much when she is 16 dating a guy that you can't stand and telling you that she hates you because you're interfering in her life. Just remember that these are all part of raising a girl, just as much as pig tails with pink ribbons, spiny dresses and shiney shoes

Well we had the cookout at Coach's last evening. It was fun to see the group again and share some laughs. Coach didn't set up the video camera as he'd discussed but he did ask everyone to talk about their experience with the group. Most talked about the benefit of the group and the additional resources to which we'd been introduced. The newbies discussed how far they'd come. I didn't have much to add so I didn't say anything. Then Coach gave out certificates to each of us with one word he thought described us. Mine was "resolute". He mentioned that I have room for improvement and that I am steadfast in my training. Interestingly he never discussed my "room for improvement" during training  Therein lies my confusion. So driving home there was more discussion whether I would stay with him, switch to Michi (who was there, interestingly) or go it on my own.

Also some discussion with DS2 this weekend about our attempt to BQ for 2016.

ETA: Coach also joked that he was going to have me give a talk next session about what NOT to eat before a race

You can be doing everything you're supposed to, and there's still room for improvement.  I hope I always have room for improvement.  Although, I hope that room is not somewhere in my house.

Something in my house is always in need of improvement.  For some reason, no matter how much I do, something else always needs to be done.  Pretty good metaphor, actually!

Thank you! I was thinking about that this morning. It's an attainable goal but it's a stretch to be sure. The trick will be seeing if DS2 can find a qualifying race nearby and if he can even get away to do Boston. We still don't have his ship date but are expecting to know within the next few days.

Sigh. Most of you already know but I'm recovering from a shattered nose and some broken teeth. But honestly I'm just waiting for the swelling to go down so they can rebreak it with reconstructive surgery. Doc says I can run. I hadn't felt up to it but I think I'm going to give it a shot today. I need it for ny sanity. Nit sure if this is going to derail my marathon plans or not. Ugh also woke up thinking our pug was dying. Her eye was all crazy and she couldt stand up. Turns out it was an inner ear thing and shell be ok. Things are a little rough this week.

On a more... ehem... personal note...

When Mary and I did the Oktoberfest Tri there was a nice group of vendors there after the race. One of them was called "Leg Lube". I briefly glanced at their product and saw that it had to do with shaving, but they were primarily marketing men and I didn't want to get too personal discussing shaving with them so I passed. Well later that day I went to one of my favorite Denver tri stores and they had the Leg Lube, which purported to help with avoiding irritation and ingrown hairs while shaving. I was curious about it's use in more, um, tender areas so I bought some. I've since tried it on areas that get, um, irritated after shaving and met great success with no irritation. So, just an FYI.

Aw no! Not Stevie! Really glad she's OK. But loved ones growing old sucks no matter what.

As does what happened to you no words for it, really. Just a gentle healing {MELON PRESS} and I hope the swelling and pain recede quickly.

Oh no!! Sounds like a terrible week so far.  Glad the pup is (or is going to be) okay.  That's at least a little light in the darkness.  What the heck happened?

I'll have to check it out.  Thanks for the tip.  I was in such a funk after the race I didn't really check out the vendors.  I just got a free sample of some protein drink and my free burrito, then talked with you and left.

Hey, exciting about your plans to BQ!!  Stretch goals are good.  I'm sure you can do it.

This may be the highlight of my week

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
