Sam Adams Summer blows. It is by far the worst of the seasonal selections (with the Oktoberfest being the best). And Killians and Molsen??? C'mon ..... not even on a list of decent beers!! Bass, Guinness, Sam Oktober/Winter, Fat Tire Amber, etc. are good beers. I would agree the October Fest is a good drop as are the other season selections. They sometimes at Thks Giving her in CT have a seasonal pack. Includuding Cranbury Lambic a Capucino beer....andd many other hmmmm think I am going to go home tonight and have a couple. Not sure if you have tried Magic Hat? a bunch of hippies make it in Vermont nice beer as well!!!

Molsen Canadian is a much much different beer than anything else Molsen sells. Killians....yum. If you can find SA O bring it to Eagleman! |

Finally a topic that I consider myself a certified professional on.... A few of my favorites (not in any particular order):
Just a few of the ones you'll find in my bar fridge. One good thing about Philly is that we have a killer place to go out and get good eats and try all kinds of great beers:

I have been to Morimoto a few times. We went a lot when it first opened up. Good eats for sure. Way too pricy though. But worth the experience. Monks is surely one of the good things about Philly. However, Philly has one of the hottest restaurant scenes in any major city. There are so many other fantastic restaurants it's hard to even come close to hitting them all. If you ever come up this way again check out Sagami in Collingswood NJ. They actually just got a much better review than Morimoto and you can walk out of there for under $80 tip included. My wife and I eat there pretty almost every Friday. |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: EagleMan Ironman 70.3 Triathlon : Official Thread We each did the top level of the chef's selection (it's funny because it says "And Up" on the menu ...... we took the "And Up" for ours). Wagyu beef, fatty tuna, lobster to name a few things we got ........ ended up being a 9 course meal and we even did the mid level wine pairing with it. I think I am going to plan to go there again for our 10th anniversary this year (it was on our 9th last year). We enjoyed it that much and are both total foodies. Plus when we got married I had said we were going to go to Japan for our 10th, but because of financing and kids, we can't do that this year so I thought that would be a good substitution. Man, this thread is all ove the map!! |

Subject: RE: EagleMan Ironman 70.3 Triathlon : Official Thread As a college student I know which beers are absolutely horrible: 1) Natural "Natie" light 2) Keystone (both regular and Light) 3) Coors light 4) Miller Light (notice a trend?) As far as good beers, its all up to personal taste and how much you are willing to dish out. Polygamy Porter based out of St. Lake City is my roommates favorite. As the bottle says: Why just have one? (no joke that is there motto). However, Men's Health said that Guinness is the healthiest beer. Personally, I would take a Diet Coke any day. With regards to being able to swim. I believe you can but am not totally sure. |

Oh no, for the love of god! You had to go and do it! Now that you mentioned CRABS I am going to have to get a bushel this weekend. I hate when this sort of thing happens. Last week it was all-u-can-eat at the bar this weekend I'm doing it in the luxury of my back yard.... Nothing better than waking up the then following day with the smell of crab and old bay under your finger nails.... |

Subject: RE: EagleMan Ironman 70.3 Triathlon : Official Thread Well I did the course today and if you are going to do it this weekend a few pointers: 1) The wind is in your face/coming at you from your left handle bar for the first 30 miles, but once you take the left hand turn onto Golden Hill rd. you take off. My speed jumped 5 miles per hour! However, do not get excited and try to control your energy expenditure. Save it for the last 6 miles where the wind is less favorable. 2) Part of Hooper's Island rd. is not yet fully paved near the bridge and is really rocky for about 100 yards. Be careful! 3) Taylor Island rd just got repaved! It is really nice and flat (if it was not for the wind it would be awesome), however the Pink EMan markers are really faint so keep an eye out. 4) The run is still shadeless, so make sure you hydrate! Good luck! |
