I hate this state. I need to move back to AZ. I froze my butt off riding yesterday.

Agreed! Although I would prefer Colorado, can be 70 in denver and snow in the mountains, best of both worlds!  And the only way to get better at hills.... by riding more hills, what better place than the mountains.

You just need better gear.  I sweated on my ride in (okay, my actual butt was a little cold but still present) at 40 degrees.  Dressed in a few less layers for the ride home and was perfect.

I agree this weather totally sucks.  For instance, on Sunday it is supposed to be 60 degrees and partly sunny.  I would much more prefer 61 degrees and partly cloudy.  Man is that going to suck.

It'll suck for the fools that are standing around handing out fluids to you runners!

Yea you are probably right. But riding in layers of clothes, gloves and a hat just does get me exicted. I am not looking foward to my long ride on Saturday.

Anything is better than the trainer!  I find my cool weather biking layers to be quite comfortable.  Most of it is my winter running stuff.

Looks like you should swap your long ride to Sunday.

I find a nice pair of 'wind shorts' to protect the boys is in order, but otherwise I use my cold weather running gear.

Sub 30 is chilly, but 40-60 is tollerable.

My turn to whine.  After a month of no rain, now it won't stop!  I am not going to get my third cutting of hay and will have to buy hay this year.  And, I need to run and it's terrible out there.  I will have to resort to the indoor track and that thing makes me crazy.  Not sure it's worth it for a 4 mile run.

LOL - knew this thread would get posted to today - and with good reason!

Emily - you are right on.  With all of Sept. being so nice and warm and summery and now snow, we'll just call this "The Year With No Fall".  Bummer as Fall is my favorite season!

Ideally the rain will stop by the PM so I can log some miles tonight.

AcesFull - 2009-10-12 3:07 PM

I actually dislike Fall in general, and would just as soon it get on to being winter most years.  Of course, I generally expect Fall to last at least 9 or 10 days before Winter starts...

I LOVE running in this stuff, but HATE to bike in it... Good thing tri season is over, or I'd be SCREWED on the bike!

Confirmation of what we suspected:

Brrrr! First half of October the coldest ever

High temperature averaged a chilly 47 degrees for the first two weeks of the month - 16 degrees below normal.
