You guys need to grab some wings from Hooters, a couple of six packs of beer, and plop down in front of your TVs. Playoffs come only once a year!!! Don't wipe your greasy hands on your tshirts. Use the dog instead (I heard this was a guy thing). What? Sorry couldn't hear you, I've got pool water in my ears. |

BORING...except for the Wiz who only win a playoff game once every 17 years.... I'd much rather watch March Madness...which is long gone. So I suppose it's off to the pool instead. |

Uh-oh! We have a Dukie amongst us! My BF went to Duke, so I'm a big fan of Coach K and the boys as well. I have to agree with you Joel! Although I still have a soft spot for the NBA (some parts of it, anyway.) |

New user 40 | Subject: RE: BT Swim Challenge Basically all I have to do to assess the Boys Vs. Girls status is tally the toal yards pledged and completed for each team and divide through for the aggregate %. Just wanted to clarify here, are we competing on basis of total yards swam / total yards pledged, or are we averaging each individual's percent of goal to come up with the figure. Your post seems to imply that you think these are the same but they aren't. Example, if swimmer A pledges 300 yards and swims 100, while swimmer B pledges 2000 yards and swims 1500, then total they swam 1600 out of 2300 yards, or 69.6%. Swimmer A swam 33% of his goal, while swimmer B swam 75% of his, and averaging those gives you 54%. So, you see, not the same. I think the spirit here was that someone who pledged 5K has the potential to impact the team's average as much as someone who pledged 45K...which means you're probably wanting to average each individual's percentage of pledge to come up with the figure...right? Just wanted to make sure that you realized that those weren't equivalent. And if you are of the losing gender, does that make you a "loser" and mean you have to post the swimsuit pic, or are you only considered a "loser" if you don't meet your goal? |

After growing up in Boston in the 70's, basketball now just holds no attraction for me. Don't forget your bucket o' chicken! I'll take a grilled chicken breast, thanks. Beer anyone? I don't drink Sheesh... real men would be Keep talking smack. This real man is really looking forward to the Chyck speedo shots. Hey, shouldn't you be spending the day at one of those bars on the beach at Siesta Key? You deserve a nice relaxing afternoon. A few, actually. You can swim later. |

I was under the impression that we would calculate everyone's average and then average that data for each team. I agree with Bendog in that its only fair because someone who pledges 10K has just as much incentive hit his mark as someone who pledged 40K. As for the "loser" it will be all the girls, not just the girls who missed their goal. |

Each team members % of goal reached will be calculated, then we will calculate the average %. For example, if I hit 75% of my goal and you hit 125% of your goal, the team average is 100% (assuming we are the only 2 on the team). It is a team effort/challenge and, therefore, the team that loses (BOYS) will be posting a new avatar for the month. Perhaps we girls should take up a gel and razor collection to buy them in bulk for the boys (we want the pics to be aesthetically pleasing, ya know). |

Regular 62 Atlanta, GA | Subject: RE: BT Swim Challenge Depends on how you figured your pledge. If you gave your number based on meters, just report your distance in meters, if you converted your pledge to yards, then make sure to convert everything in your log. Outside of the TH3_FRB vs. any girl individual challenge for total yards, the rest of us just have to worry about hitting 100% (or more) of our goal so we can whoop Team Chyck Edited by csmaurer99 2005-05-04 5:15 PM |

Buttercup 14334 | Subject: RE: BT Swim Challenge It doesn't really matter whether it's metric or imperial. If your goal is 10k meters and you swim 10k meters, then your % of goal is 100% - that's what we're going by. |
