| Chatham Ontario | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN MENTOR GROUP NAME: Chris Bell - better known as Spanky by all my friends. STORY: I started my tri journey 1 year ago April 1, 2010 when I stepped on a scale and was starting to have some success with weight loss. I was down from 279 in Jan to 265 and decided that I was going to do a Try a Tri the end of summer. Started watching what I ate more and more. Started walking on a treadmill more and then eventually started a couch to 5k program and got my bike back out. Found BT and through BT I ended up connecting with an old friend from college on here. Found out since college she went on to university and started doing HIM and other events and had for years. Fast forward I am now 213lbs and still trying to drop some and my friend is now my primary workout buddy. She has been an inspiration and she always goes out of her way to help others. FAMILY STATUS: Married to my wonderful wife Tina. 1 Dog Sasha an alaskan malamute and 1 cat, an angry calico
2011 RACES: My first tri will be a spring in June. WHAT DO YOU BRING TO THIS MG? Excitement, desire to improve and a weird sense of humor. This is my second time with this group now. I enjoyed my first time. Learned a lot, met some good people had a few debates and educated myself. Looking forward to round two. Oh and as for my login name. Techdiver. My other primary hobby for 18 years is Scuba diving I jumped into that sport with both feet for 18 years and I am an avid Deep mix gas diver diving the great lakes as deep as 300 feet down and also an avide Cave diver where I generally spend one week a year in Florida exploring underwater caves local to that area. | Expert 1481 | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN MENTOR GROUP Did a 9.5 mile run this morning mostly in zone two. The route we ended up choosing was one we had not done before and we ascended 1900 feet so this one  had some major hills. 1:36:12. Felt great even with the hilly run. It was 24 degrees when we started at 5:30AM and was all of 34 when we finished just after 7. No wind though so it was pretty comfortable once we got going. |

Better? HOW SO? and to the rest of you, Ok Dineen, it's you and me once again... Better, because I'M there!  I dunno, that's all I got.  You guys can be better at football, though, I'll let you have that.   |

I'm starting to plan this weekend what my new workout plan will look like. I think I'm going to start out Tuesday with a really short, easy two-miler, and I'm either going to drive down to the path or walk down to it, so that my run won't include any hills. I'd like to avoid hills for a few weeks still if I can. Funny thing, I've been wearing my new running shoes the last few days, instead of my casual shoes, and it has made my knee feel a ton better. So it looks like I get to wear those for a few weeks on a regular basis, too! I cannot wait to get back into the workouts. I'm dying here!

I normally do a set of stretches where I am on my back with one knee bent and the other straight. I hold a rope around the straight leg and lift up. I've been getting much closer to 90 degrees lately but this morning after the race I can't even get to 45 degrees. I do get masages and try to stretch every day, any one else have issues of tightening up really quick?

Fixed it for you... I have some really sad news for you, Steve. Son had a birthday sleepover last night. Sitting around the table the group of 11-year-olds did in an informal survey, "Google or Bing?" (Nerdy kids who live near Microsoft!) Every last one of 'em? Google. Sorry, pal!! |

Yeah when we start new sessions the posting tends to go crazy. Posting will slow down (slightly) and some new people always drop off. We tend to pick up 3-4 new people each session that stick. LOL one of these years we won't be able to take anyone new because there will be so many "regulars" |
