Day 5 of juice fast (not really a fast, with salad for lunch and veggie soup for dinner I'm getting 1000 - 1200 cals - but a lot less than I could get with eating).
Two days of juices in cooler, have cooler in back of car with juices so I can take some with me and purchased a cool new plastic cup with built in straw so I can sip in public as the juices are in canning jars.

Cool beans...

Impressive dedication to your juicing quest. DO you feel you're hungry much with the low calorie intake with exercise as well?

I made chicken soup last yesterday...it came out really good!  This cold has been making me crave bread and I noticed by eating some of the fat from the chicken, no carb craving!

I just don't know how Friday is going to go.  Rolled an ankle last Friday so missed my long bike and long run

Stepped on the scale Monday, to check myself and it wasn't pretty.  Got back to active yesterday.  Ankle sore but survivable.  Been eating pretty well since Monday so we'll just have to see.

I can't wait for warmer/longer days to get here.  Training indoors stinks.  Not to mention swim suit season, my favorite time of the year....lol.

John, oddly I wasn't feeling hungry. Got that cold people have been getting and craved and ate a zone bar, and orange, grapefruit and rice cakes. Wasn't hunger as much as just wanting to eat, to treat myself. Today I'm hungry, but drinking an extra green drink.
It really was all too easy, I should have expected some reaction or craving.

Embarrassed to say that I haven't been working out.

enders_shadow - 2013-01-14 9:58 AM One way to give up G2 (lite Gatorade) FOREVER - get a nasty bottle. I was running late yesterday - sprinting in from a run to get daughter to soccer practice, so I just grabbed an old (and yes, the key is old) G2 from the pantry. Get in the car and start driving her, open the bottle & start drinking & get a nasty sip. Ugh - mold. In the bottle. Spit it out all over the steering wheel of the car, etc. Ewwwwww. I will live the rest of my life without drinking another G2. And since the primary G2 consumer in my house was with me, she has been warned not to put the flavors she doesn't like behind the new bottles - finish the old stuff first, girlfriend, or you'll get moldy G2 at soccer. :p

Oh HURL!!!!!

have felt like I have been fighting something all week, but getting workouts done - not necessarily the full amount. Today I woke up aching all over, headache - did NOT swim, got to work and am hoping to make it through the day

doing well with the food, and weight is going the right direction - hopefully not fully derailed now.

Okay so I jumped the gun on the ankle recovery.  Not a good thing.  I have a 5K Saturday, so I am "RICE"ing the ankle and taking workouts off.  Could be a rough day tomorrow on the scale.

Well the "good news" is that I am exactly where I was when I started this round.....the bad news is my daughter seemed to share her GI thing with me and I feel lousy.

At least it is just 2 eats and not 2 weeks of stress eats and munching (like I seem to be into right now)

I was very tentative to join because I am just starting out and am not sure I can hang with you guys, but here goes!

About me: Kim/tricupcake; I have lived in the Chicago burbs for 12 years now; married with 3 furry children (but still trying to have some non-furry ones)

Mini- Goal: 8 glasses of water a day

Long Term Goals:  Get to my goal weight, ~145 (about 80 to go!), Olympic distance race

Cardio I think this should be doable with my current training I'm doing.

Strength This will be tough, but I will try

Nutrition:  Stick to my keto macros

Weekly Weigh-in/Measurements: Last Friday I was 228.8, but I haven't measured yet.  Maybe I will have the husband do my measurements tonight.

Pictures: Maybe.  I am mortified at how I look right now, but will try to muster up the courage to post some at my all-time high of 250.

Meh. After a great showing last week, I'm up 1-1.5 pounds. I'm hoping it's that I have had a couple of stress eats (which in retrospect may also be hormonally induced). Getting back to basics again - although hubby's birthday is tomorrow.

207->212->209

Stepped on the scale this morning.  Happy to see 207 looking back up at me.  Down 2 this week.  Wasn't able to get near the training in that I was wanting to so I had to really be uber-disciplined with my diet.

Ankle feels better, at least I think it does.  Resting it was the right call.  First race of the season tomorrow.  Short little charity 5K.

Training for an Olympic tri, begins in earnest Monday.

Indeed, welcome to the group.  No need to be tentative, this isn't a race around here.  We only offer support, advice, and wisdom.  Okay the last one is debatable, but we try.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome!

I somehow managed to go up to 229.6 as of this morning.  I am going to give the scale a break for a couple of weeks and rely on how my clothes are fitting until I can get some measurements done.

Sounds familiar --- up from 213.4 to 215.0  - 4 rather inactive days didn't help.

Don - yes for me it's the thrill of spandex in public. The only saving grace is that the sport is welcoming of all sizes so I'm not alone - though at a size 14 I was probably the biggest. My sprints were a small local, but very popular, race. Seems to be a favorite for really great athletes to warm-up and try out wetsuits and their transition times.
The woman who finished under an hour had just had a baby and usually does HIM and IM!

Kim,
I am cautious about the internet and privacy, but I like when people post pics of themselve racing or before and after shots, it makes me feel like I know them a bit more and it can be inspiring. I decided to post a before. I couldn't find one! I realize that I avoid the camera, so there are a number of family events without a picture of me. It made me sad that the kids will look back and not see me.
I then found one, but can't figure out how to post it.

I think it's day 8 of my juice diet (can't call it a fast when I add a few almonds, beans and a small protein drink at night).

1-6-2013 165
1-11-2013 163.5
1-18-2013 160.5

Wish I could be happier about the loss.
When I eat well, or avoid cake or fattening food for a day I look in the mirror expecting to be skinny! Have to remember I'm in this triathlon/health thing for the long haul.
