Love the green and blue What is the graphic?...a stylized R?

The graphic is a three part, uh, swirl? that represents sbr.

Catching up - the only thing I can retain as information from the six pages that just happened is this:

CHOC CHIC COOKIE.

Now where do we get those?  Online?

OMG I totally forgot to mention this, but I received a gift from one of the old Manatee Mentors yesterday!!!

That made me smile. For every reason in the world.

LaughingLaughingLaughing

I know. I can't believe I didn't mention it first thing.

My mind is going a million miles and hour and I am sweating like a pig. Ima mess.

Welcome to my world EVERY day!

The meds help. So do the funnier of the voices

Except I sweat like a dying horse. Pigs don't sweat that much. That's why they like to seek cool things--water, mud.

Hm. The Funny Farm lacks a piglet. And a goat. I would like a milking goat.

You, on the other hand, ARE fine and are going to be fine. What's on the docket for the rest of the workday? That's all you have to worry about. In fact, just whatever you need to do next. Like post here.

I do not like goat's milk. When I was a kid we lived in rural Colorado and the neighbor gave my mom goats milk for free so that's what we drank. Hated it! You cannot make that stuff taste good, even with chocolate cereal! I do like some goats milk cheeses, i.e. feta, but not if they smell to goat-y

We did a lot of work with goats when I was in tech school. Got reeeeeaaaalllllll close to them. I can't eat or drink anything goat-milk cheeses anything. It is like licking a goat. Do not ask how I know this.

Nuh-uh, I'm going to ask. How do you know this?

Trying to restrain and pull blood at the same time on a kid.  He didn't love it.  I may have had my mouth open at an inopportune time.  Definitely prefer a Chic Chip Cookie.

StaceyK - 2013-04-06 1:59 AM GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE RACING MANATEES Confession time.I'm not racing this weekend, gotta help DH put his race car together for next weekend. I decided that this was more important than doing the sprint cause he hasn't raced in 3 years and next weekend is the last race meet of the speedway season. Hey Jen how did your bike auction go? Did they get a decent amount for it? Is that the last one they have to sell before you go shopping or do they still have more? Froggy nice to meet you. I ride a Giant Avail (the women's version of the Defy) mine is the basic model cause I am not yet worthy of anything more than that, but its still a good bike, and now that I have finally had it fitted properly I am enjoying riding it. I even passed someone on a Felt at my last tri, ok so she was stopped with a flat at the time but that's minor details that we don't need to worry about. I would say that probably 50% of the bikes at tris here would be Giants probably cause you can get a decent one without having to take out a second mortgage, not sure if its the same in the UK.

Hi Stacey, pleasure to meet you too. I was originally going to get a Specialised Allez Sport but the test ride revealed it to not feel at all special. A bit of a shame because i think they are nice looking bikes. I couldn't enjoy the Defy 3 mainly because  it was bright red!!! The Defy 1 was a lot more enjoyable. I can't decide if this was because it had a lovely white paint job or because of the higher spec components. I seem to be putting a lot of emphasis on the aesthetics, probably because my bike riding skill is as good as my swimming and running, although i do love being out on a bike when i have one. The Defy 1 would cost around £1000. If i like the Cannondale CAAD8 sora, it would cost £699with the Tiagra version at £899. Luckily, having your oldest and best friend working in the trade means i get to use up his personal discount (he is allowed to purchase 2 bikes per year at pretty much cost price) so i am looking at 43% off list price. Yeah for best friends. Shame i don't have more pennies to spend because this discount could be applied to their real high end stuff worth thousands!

You are making me envious compared to what I've seen on the web bikes here in Australia are so expensive. My entry level Giant cost me $1,000 and that was on sale cause the next year's model was out. I didn't mind have the older one cause the specs where better (for a start it came with shimano pedals) and it wasn't pink! I must say the person who decided that women's specific models need to be pink or have pink on them is my nemeses. I do not like pink - except for the singer.

by the way love your signature quote, it brought back some good memories.

So just a quick update. After a frustrating Friday pm, i thought it would be a good idea to take wifey and daughter to the pub for dinner, which would give me the perfect excuse to snick a couple of pints and unwind.

I gazed at the menu in a sort of perplexed way and decided that, with less than 48 hours to go before my first race of the season, i would, for the first time, take on one of their eating challenges.

How dumb am I!!!!

To cut a long story short, i failed to clear my plate, it is now 5am and my indigestion has kept me awake for half the nightCry. I am not sure if i will actually have finished digesting everything before 11am tomorrow, despite thinking that several glasses of red wine might help.

Somebody needs to give me a slap. Ok, just line up behind Salty and you'll get your turn when she eventually gets tiredWink

I missed the move on while trying to catch up... holy crap - 10 more pages...!  I just read 10.. LOL

Copy / Pasting my comments here..

jobaxas - 2013-04-03 2:35 PM First interaction I can't recall... I've met Yanti NigelW Bond girl and swayerm (Jess) and I feel like we've met! I interact with a few others take advice from marvarnett (dan) Best advice I got was from him (dan) about pulling out of ironman he truly helped me thru that process.I love the manatees and our social interactions and I'd like to travel the states and meet you all.Person I miss most ukweeble :(

X2!!! Do we know where our dear froggy has hopped off to?  Such a great British sense of humor on that one, and always ready to hurry the frog up!

I don't remember who I first interacted with on BT.  I joined in December 2011 after I decided to become a "triathlete" (and I remember a convo some months back about being worthy to call yourself that - I said that if you are doing all three sports, go ahead and give yourself the title!)  I was poking around the forums and saw mentor forums, so I thought it would be good to join, being a total newb.  I checked out a couple and the saw Yanti & Salty's Mad Manatees - sounded like a bunch of weirdos to me (I didn't know the half of it!).  But like others have said, they seemed active and, let's be honest, I too am a big old weirdo and haha - I fit right in   We had a really awesome group winter 2012, and many of that group are still kickin' it here.  And those who have joined since are all super cool too.  I'm going to credit our oh-so-wise and worldly mentors for the good vibes

I haven't met any BTers yet, but, as Salty said, we are going to meet next week!! (Which reminds me, we've got to figure out day/time!

Best advice is probably from Salty.  I was complaining of not having motivation to go for a run, and she said you never regret doing a workout.  Although I still skip workouts in favor of TV and snacks, there are more times now that I think to that feeling of finishing a tough workout and it gets me out the door.  Thanks Salty!!  And, of course, the best stories are from Yanti.  I'd like to meet her in person soooo much, primarily to confirm she actually exists.  I'm starting to think she is make believe.

OMG - was that a Salty original?

I remember a long time ago reading a very similar quote.. "I have never regretted doing a workout, but I have regretted not doing one".. Was that you Salty?  I have been trying to figure out who posted that advice for about a year now!

Did my last tough track workout last night! Yaaaaaaaaaaay!

My training partner and I and JUST different enough that I needed my own timing device to complete my workout (as the rest of the group was doing a different, non-marathon specific workout) Anyway, I forgot a watch so I had to carry my phone and use the stopwatch function lol fun stuff ....

Anyway, the workout was supposed to be 8 x 800 @ 3:08 (so, that's a 6:16 pace for all you no-mathy peeps) with limited recovery (2:00 running in the turf)

Here were my splits:

8 x 800:
3:08
3:08
3:05
3:00
3:05
3:05
3:06
3:00

Then got a nice pep talk from our coach. I told him I fly in Monday and he thought I meant marathon Monday and was about to lose his sh*t.

That's just sick.

Is your training partner also running Boston?

Yes she is!

And this is so funny, or at least to me:

So, I don't know if any of you have spent much time around track/XC girls but oddly I have been friends with lots of them throughout my life(why I didn't run earlier, I have NO idea) Anyway, they all tend to have a certain personality type (obviously I am stereotyping a little.) Just very ... sweet people usually, without getting into too much detail. Anyway, Andie is the same way. Just really really nice and sweet, kind of soft spoken etc. Kind of the opposite of how I see myself. I am a lot more uh ... rough around the edges and curse too much, etc. So I always feel a little a little self conscious when we are warming up and try to tone it down a bit.

Anyway, we get into talking about how we got into running. And in her sweet, innocent soft spoken voice she tells me that she was a competitive motorcycle racer and was asked to quit (by her pleading husband) after going into a guard rail at 160+ MPH! HA! I was not expecting that!

Wait - Andie is married?

bcraht - 2013-04-05 8:12 PMI had a great run tonight--just 3 km, but felt strong the whole way.  Best run I have had since getting back at it.  Was just loving being out there--the daffodils are up, the cherry blossoms are in bloom.  Laughing
oooooh... That sounds quite beautiful. Lucky you!

It's been a TFW. Training free week. We are having a late burst of summer again! A balmy around 70f I think. Chilly in the mornings. I got to ride with hot Andrew tomorrow I'm pretty excited. Stopped into the LBS today and saw delightful Jae he said he will take me riding too. My DH was there and he couldn't believe every customer who came in I knew them he said you kissed every guy and girl that walked in you really do know a lotta people . A lot offered to ride with me aren't triathletes the best sometimes. Been to puppy school today there's always one naughty kid that the teacher loves huh? That's our Scooby. He's a good learner though. House pest now has her husband and triplets here. They are six. The girl is lovely the boys are typical outta control Greek kids ... That's all good luck to our racers. Shame on you ukweeble for not clearing your plate.
