It was totally delicious and beautiful. |

Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED Well public holiday here today, (thursday) - Anzac Day the day we commemorate those that served and serve. I went for a little ride with piglet Andrew - 43km! The ride back was a sucky headwind but he said I smashed it. I am loving this riding, I truly am. Thank goodness! Who knew, maybe it will become my favourite discipline. I also had an awesome swim squad last night. Wow, gotta love a good training week. Love the Manatees! |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED kgore - 2013-04-24 7:35 PM Hey everyone--thank you all for the thoughts/prayers...and for letting me have a mini-meltdown here last night. Dad had his surgery this afternoon, they cleaned out all the pipes and added 5 (!) shunts to his heart and some surrounding arteries--apparently, the arteries that were checked a couple weeks ago and deemed only 'slightly' (as in less then 15%) blocked had suddenly become 75% blocked--hence his heart attack on Monday. Anyway, they got 'em cleared out for now....I am curious as to why they blocked up so fast--and if so, what will stop it from happening again....Yes, I am still being a basket case. Glad the surgery went ok, Kate. Prayers for continued healing. |

Master 6595 Rio Rancho, NM | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED So I've received the "Active Runner" emails for years, then when I started doing tri's I started getting "Active Triathlete" emails. Well, this morning I got my first "Active Cyclist" email. I guess I should have expected that after signing up for the metric century ride. Too funny. |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED I went to practice for the first time last night. It was really nice to be back. My poor coach had a rough week last week! On top Boston (he's from Boston and worked with the B.A.A. for a long while) his son randomly got stabbed on Friday! Seriously!?!?! He's alright (I guess you can say) but he's in the hospital still because of some pretty severe intestinal damage. Sheesh. Anyway, I thought he might be a little disappointed in my time but he was incredibly supportive. He spoke of the way the Boston course chews people up and spits them out and, interestingly, how an extremely efficient runner is actually at a disadvantage on a course like that because they are used to just gliding along effortlessly but as it turns out, Boston makes you work. Really interesting comments. It is so cool to listen to someone who is both passionate and knowledgeable about the topic. He just frames things in a way that make sense. |

I've done things like search for a certain shoe or whatever on Google and then sure enough, it ends up in the sidebar adds and whatnot. He was convinced it was Boston, which he ran. I disagreed - those hills in San Fran were BIG!). You still cut some serious time off your last marathon, on that tough course. GREAT JOB!!! And again, so so so so so so so so glad you and Team Adrienne were safe!!!!! |

Extreme Veteran 536 | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED jobaxas - 2013-04-21 11:58 PM A breakthrough. Basically my running up until March was two short run/walks and one long per week. Now I'm on a HIM program and not far into it, the long run is about 6km the short 2km. Well whilst that feels pathetic I'm happy with the pace improvement. My usual pace of late was a little over 7min kms. Last week I beat the 7min plateau. i thought it a fluke coz it was a shorter run. But then I ran with the random stranger 6km chatting and 6.55, yesterday did a 2km with Scooby. checked my pace when I got home 6.15. WTF!!! Holy cow I got faster! Isn't it awesome to see training pay off?? I find the biking really helps my speed. Go you!! |

It's a lot like a clothes steamer, although people don't usually steam clothes while wearing them. |

That's the only motivation I have to do it right now. Caught my daughter's cold. Daycares are a cesspool of germs! On Saturday, the Tri Club is having its Sprint Tri. I volunteered to be an Angel Shark - basically helping people through the swim by giving them motivation. I don't think I'll actually be swimming with them, but I emailed to find out. Would be good to know because I do not have a suit that fits right now. |

We've always been very pro-active about working on our relationship. Now that you mention it he did say something about renting a Jeep when we are in Western Colorado (we won't have ours on the trip, his choice). I should check in to that! TJ, TW and I are working through some of the same stuff. She was doing community stuff, but that drew to a close. She did volunteer work, but that ran it's course as well. So she is figuring out what is next for her. And I figure out how to be available for her and how to get some training in. The one thing that won't stop is spending time with each other. I nearly made that mistake about 10 years ago and I am not doing that again. She is much too important. I know I'm like days behind this conversation but it is something I deal with a lot as well. Chris, this comment really struck me. I always act like I can't help it that I'm busy, while my DH is crying out for me to just stop and take a breather - with HIM. I have so many interests and hobbies and committees, it's hard to cut back, so it's always a balancing act. But no workout or Gala Committee meeting is more important that the person I love and have promised to be with til the end. Can't keep that promise if I abandon him! Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences with this issue, and to TJ for bringing it up (kind of inadvertently) |
