Originally posted by Asalzwed I've been faithfully jogo-ing. Or should I call it Yanti-I hate you-ing.Just did a warmup then an 8 mile tempo at 7:08 final mile at 6:50 then followed with 7 mile cool down in the woods for a total of 17 something. Whew!

What's even better is that I texted you in the middle of it, whining.

FWIW I'm 3/3 for gettin' the jogo on. I don't really know how to log stuff like meditation but in any case I also did 35min of yoga.

Perhaps, but you clearly do not comprehend mine yet. Wink Take a look at December & January entries and then realize I'm actually rather disappointed in myself there.

Race done. And since I was already sweaty, I did heavy yard work for three hours. I definitely over did it. I am burnt and exhausted.

Race went well. I was hoping for better, but my goal was unrealistic for me, considering the course. The good news is that it was tougher than the 10k trail I did last fall, and I improved my pace by about 30 seconds a mile. 3/6 in my age group, which was nice.

Oh, and I was pace booty for some guy! lol So funny. I guess I need to start wearing my wedding ring to races. He wasn't exactly hitting on me, but he sure chased me down and then he was all "Can I run with you for a while?" Is that a new pick up line?? (I colored my hair again, so I do look younger again, I guess.)

I dropped him after chatting for about five minutes. On a hill. I'm too fast for him. Tongue out

No, but it didn't seem that far off!

S, B & R today. Getting more effective use of bike time. Other two were just putting more time in. Still have a lot of energy, but learning more and more that this is just fine.

Sporadic internet access for me the last couple days.  So, apparently I am benefiting from Yanti's training plan for Salty too...She rode down from Seattle and met me in Auburn yesterday(I rode to Auburn from the agility trial site about 16km), we rode about 22km together (~14 miles), then she rode on to Seattle, and I turned around and rode back.  Total of about 80km for me (50 miles).  Another 'longest ride of the year' for me.  Was along a great bike route, mostly flat.  It sprinkled on us a bit on our ride, but the weather was mostly ok.  The MINUTE I got back to the agility trial site, it absolutely downpoured.  Thank goodness I made it, cause it would have been unpleasant to ride in that!!!  So, JOGO from yesterday was done, and I got a 3 mile run in today for JOGO too.  Going to ride the 40km to the trial site tomorrow, so JOGO should be done there as well!!

So race done and I'm happy with how it went. It was a 4k (very strange distance) between it and the 12km there was 29,500 people entered and the place was packed.

I ran the whole way so goal 1 achieved.
I did it in under 30minutes (Salty stop laughing ) so goal 2 achieved too.

So with the run and the 4-5km I walked getting there and home - Jogo done.

Oh also we had coffee after and I nearly ordered a chocolate and strawberry muffin then I remembered day 1 of no chocolate so had orange and poppyseed instead and felt really good about it, enjoyed it and didn't miss the chocolate even though the other lady with me had some. So YAY for me on that one.

Yesterday I had to go into the city to pick up my race pack (a 45minute drive) so I thought that I would visit the only specialist running store while I was there and maybe get some new shoes.

They do shoe fittings using a heat sensor pad to show your arch type and then they get you to jog bare foot on a treadmill and video it. They then assess it in slow mo to check for pronation and things like that. They then put you in a couple of different shoes and send you outside to run up and down the side walk, while they watch your feet.

Anyway after all that I have new shoes. They are so comfy that I nearly wore them for my race today but then I remembered "nothing new on race day"!

Nuttin' too special to report today. Mostly quiet Sunday at home. Helluva thunderstorm in the afternoon, but then it just settled down to driving rain. So, I drove myself out in it ... with my legs. For a couple hours.

The first hour was unbearably hot--steamy, foggy, soaked, supersaturated tropical deluge--then after the sun went down it felt chilly. Came home and had me TWO hot chocolates, which warmed me heart and soul.

Also, running with soaked shoes and socks feels like two cement bricks at the end of your legs.

Not that I've ever had two cement bricks at the end of my legs, although I'm quite sure some people would have liked to see that. While I was in a pond.

Got my half hour run in this morning. Not sure what the rest of the day holds. Had to cancel a visit with my Mom because her husband is sick :-(

Had great visits so far with both sides of the fam and DS1 made it in for the race tomorrow.

Got my JOGO in. 5 of 5. Didn't want to go out today, procrastinated until the very last minute, then went out and got it over with. Now literally don't have time to fire up my computer to update my log because I'm late for work.

Oh sigh. I am down.

I should probably rant more--and the deepest appreciation to those who let me --I just don't. And honestly, for the most part I'm happy, from the inside out. Whatever happens around or to me doesn't change that.

Anyway as most of you know I have a lot on my plate right now (understatement city!). I'm also looking at being primary caretaker for Mutti for a week--it's only a week, I know--but she's really taken a downturn lately and so we'll be doing Tour de Idiot Specialists to try and figure out why and if/what to do.

I do spend a fair amount of time on BT, far less than usual, but it's part of letting off steam so I don't explode and my poor siblings will have to scrape me off the ceiling with spatulas.

Things (externally) have actually gotten worse--I'm just too tired to keep up with the dental floss list, so to speak.

I'm also doing my level best to try to keep some semblance of my important friendships, but the truth is that right now I have to prioritize family and those employees that have become like family--I'm not going to have their livelihoods ruined if I can help it because of the bad apples.

What pushed me over the edge tonight is that I called one of my closest friends, we hadn't spoken in a few days, to see how he was doing, to let him know I'd been thinking of him and praying for him. Not to rant--and I didn't--but really just for him. He ranted to me ... ABOUT ME. First by being sarcastic about my calling; "I'm shocked," he said (I call every week no matter how much my life is in the shytter. The last time he called me was right after my dad died). And little things ... that I haven't "liked" his new business on Facebook yet (REALLY?!?!?) and that I discouraged him from contacting my sister for business reasons.

I'm extremely protective of my sister under the best of circumstances--she's a celebrity, carries a great deal of weight, is super busy, and everybody always wants something from her. Right now every major area of her life is extremely challenging (to put it mildly) even more so than mine.

I realize that his outburst was about him and where he is at and that he clearly is in some pain. Like I said to Jo about her trainer--it ain't you, it's him. Nevertheless, I'm really, really hurt. This is a person in the very closest circle of friends.

That said, I'm this hurt because it is unusual (obviously if it were usual the friendship would not have happened/lasted/be close). So we'll see what happens. The way I see it the ball is in his court--after tonight, I am really not inclined to reach out to him for any reason, so if anything is to happen it'll have to come from him. I hope it does; I believe it will. We've both seen each other make some pretty bad mistakes, as human beings, and we're quick to try and earnestly set things straight.

Still, it just effing hurts. I was ready to be a friend, I could really use a friend, and this was uncalled for in any circumstance.
