Master 2429 Falls Church, Virginia | Subject: RE: Mad Manatees 2015.3 CLOSED (or Poptarts? Pet pics?) Originally posted by IronOx Proof of life post. Start of school is always crazy. Plus I was home from Denmark for 1 week, then went away again for 4 days. Unfortunately tweaked my knee getting on to a bike for a fun ride so can't run right now. Also, we lost our oldest Staffie on Tuesday. He was almost 12 and developed symptoms of a brain tumour in the past month or so (in hindsight). Became weak and wobbly about 10 days ago, I took him for a Neuro consult and they thought it could be a disc in his neck or possibly intracranial. But over the next 5 days it became very obvious it was brain: circling, getting lost in corners, whining. So we made the decision to let him go. RIP Proton "Canadian Champion Araidh Atlantic Starr" Welcome to the new podmate. I hope you aren't scared off yet! Kirsten I am so sorry for your loss. Sounds like it was the right decision, but that doesn't stop the ache. <3 |

Master 6834 Englewood, Florida | Subject: RE: Mad Manatees 2015.3 CLOSED (or Poptarts? Pet pics?) Ann-Marie, TW and I were talking about my race schedule for the winter this week and I mentioned Flatwoods. She stated that trail racing was off the table for this year and possibly forever. Now I'm more determined to get up there again! I may do Hillsborough Quarter (or Half) Marathon in mid December, but we'll have to see. QM was an easy course, mostly Jeep trail and dirt roads when I did it a few years back. |

I'm not racing but I volunteer every year for the Patriot tri (I think last year I volunteered AND raced ) So I'll be doing that tonight and tomorrow. |

Ann doesn't trust you I didn't know about QM, if I don't run the OUC HM the weekend before, I may have to do it! It looks like it's in the same area as Flatwoods, but is in a different park. Do I have that right? |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Mad Manatees 2015.3 CLOSED (or Poptarts? Pet pics?) I've been taking my break before XC starts and wow, it's amazing how easily the more sedentary life comes to me. Eeks! I have been getting really into this show, Empire, and I think I am starting to confuse it with reality. LOL time to get back to running, this life isn't for me!!! I'm going to the Trail Running Film Festival tonight, I'll bet that will jump-start my training. But first, I am going on a really cool adventure this weekend for my friend's bachelorette party. It's going to be AWESOME. |

Master 6834 Englewood, Florida | Subject: RE: Mad Manatees 2015.3 CLOSED (or Poptarts? Pet pics?) Hey, there was a MattTX sighting on Strava, good to see all is well with he and Kim: Hi guys! Glad you're still at it - the world seems right. I'm still keeping fit, but taking some time from structures training - I don't even record all my workouts, if you can believe it! Good to take a break and heal up some niggling injuries, so I've been at the gym a lot more (including yoga with Kim!) too... I hope all's well with you. |

DH is doing a race this weekend. He's kind of a Manatee by proxy cuz he knows all about us and our shenanigans and has even met TJ, her family, and Salty. Bottom line, guess we can add Mr. Mary in there too. What's with the knees, Kirsten and Erin? You two (k)need to heal up ASAP!! Healing thoughts coming your way - hope they help. I don't know what's up with my language today. I think it must be Friday afternoon and I'm loopy from all the excess sugar and caffeine I've managed to consume. |
