Wow, a lot of help you guys are.

Life is the important part. Training and racing are merely a small part of it. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the weekend. And a big THANK YOU for your service to this country.

The RD said there will be an announcement in the next 3 week about the full and the HIM isn't going anywhere :-)

Pretty cool stuff. Give DS1 a high five from me. I'll leave the hugs to others

What? Someone reads that blog? LOL Thanks very much for your support. I really appreciate it. It was a very tough decision to change. Felt kind of like I was failing at my original goals, however Joanne helped me see the light. She said to me - do you want to suffer through and IM, or kill a half? I want to compete this year. My goal is not to just finish - so I decided to change to the 1/2. Life has just been to crazy and hectic for me to have any consistency in my training this year. I was worried that if I stuck to my guns, I would end up injured. My base fitness is good, so I don't think I will have any issues being ready in 12 weeks. I'm also doing an Oly on 6/30. Some of you know - I did a road trip to Denver. I took my bike, and did a couple runs and swims along the way. I took a lot of pics and I made a slideshow. Feel free to check it out. Skrats Road Trip Slideshow : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AsfYW5ikj4&feature=youtu.be

Chad, take your time, train, build, race, practice and get better. When it is time for the BIG race, you'll be ready. To force it makes things bad. I am really impressed that you decided this, great job man!

JOGO 7 of 7, done

Opted for 40 min on Trainer Road again. Thought I'd use the pedal motion to stretch off the foot.

JOGO starts today!  I am 1/1.  Did 26 minutes on the bike and then did my 20 minute run after.  My legs are toast!  I forgot what it was like to do a brick.  Or, more likely, I blocked the memory of what it was like.

I'm a little frustrated with myself - probably being too hard.  I feel like a poser on my bike.  I haven't ridden in 2 - 3 years.  My engine sucks!  I want to be better and faster NOW like I used to be, so I feel down on myself the entire time I am riding.  I know it's not a good thing and I need to be more patient with myself, but it's hard when I'm remembering how I used to be able to ride for much longer.

Good job on the JoGo time. Keep rolling on that sweet new bike and the legs and lungs will be back where they were in no time! 3 years is a bit of a break, so go easy on yourself.

OK, I was the person in the house that stitched the Girl Scout badges onto the sashes, so I admit to being able to sew a bit. However, I am not the one you want to turn to for help on the training plan combo.  Other than Hal Higdon's Novice Plan getting me to the start of my first HM, I have not used a plan. What 2 plans are you trying to combine? And why?

I didn't get to be a Marathon Maniac by waiting 18 weeks for new training cycles.   I can't sew a thing with needle and thread but I have changed, stitched together, studied, and used more canned plans that I care to ever admit.  Please elaborate on what plans you are trying to stitch together.

OK, I held off on this a bit, but I have to ask you ladies (and guys) a few questions:

  • How many of you are raising, or have raised, a family?
  • How about balancing a job, a family, school, a second job, etc?
  • How many are caring for other family members?
  • How many of you know people that are not thoughtful, or are forgetful, or are just plain mean?
  • Who determines your happiness?

I am completely impressed on a daily basis by all of you, working multiple jobs, going to school, taking care of others and putting everyone else in your lives first. Yet it seems like you don't take the time to look in the mirror and see the strength, power, intelligence and beauty that you all possess. Let me be the one to tell you just how AWESOME you all are. Your happiness and joy are not provided by some guy at work, or at a gym, not a "Friend" or some guy you meet on a date.  There are people all over the world that are not going to be there for you, they will let you down, they will fail at their jobs.  They have different values, morals, desires and goals than you do. That is no indictment of you, but of them. You are so much more than that.  It breaks my heart to see you having struggles like this, but please know that better things await you. Work and think through your struggles, and please know that someone sees the awesome inside of you. I pray that you see it as well.

Enjoy the week everyone, and may you have a moment that takes your breath away and fills you with joy, wonder, and peace!

You've got it all wrong! He's an idiot and he's probably trying to save his job by sending you money on the sly. The issue is all his. Always was. He sounds like a hack of a trainer and his job is probably on the line. You have your goals and the heart to meet them. His loss!

I agree with TJ. He is paying you off, trying to buy your silence. He really is a sleaze.

And where is the money for the session that he ditched you part way through? Cause he didn't finish that off either.

I agree with TJ and Stacey.

Go to the gym--get his butt in trouble for his unprofessional behavior.  Do not feel guilty for standing up for yourself.

As a dad of 2 girls that have had some cr@p thrown at them, I have a soft spot. As a husband that has watched my wife go through some challenges in her life, I know some of what you all work through on a daily basis. And it hurts me when my sub-species is not as good as it should be.

I stand by my statement and will always - you are all AWESOME!
