Chaderbox - 2009-05-11 5:06 PM Eh, puke is puke.  It's really not that bad.  However, the opinions of medical professionals shouldn't really be taken into consideration for things like puke and lots of blood, etc.

There's a reason I didn't go to med school.  Don't mind dissecting animals or tissue samples, but I can't deal with vomit and blood.

Yeah, seems like animal carnage is way less gross than human carnage. I was always jealous of the AP Bio kids who got to dissect a cat.

I'd rather kill a person than a dog. Just sayin' ...

I don't know that I could deal with dogs or cats or monkeys.  Rats and mice are hard when you have to kill them, but once they are dead I can disconnect and get work done.  It's not like I enjoy it, but I understand the necessity and so I can do what I have to do.

I don't mean it in that way. I just ddin't get the willies from slicing frogs open and seeing a sheep eye or heart or fetal pig dissected didn't gross me out, but I HATE gory medical scenes on shows like Grey's Anatomy.

I mean it that way!!!

The Bio class didn't have to kill the cats. I couldn't do that. Frogs, rats, mice, probably. Not cats or dogs.

One time the NICU transport team had to intubate cats to show their competency.  They gave the cats a paralytic agent, then if they didn't get the tube in, the cat would have died.  I hear it was quite the disaster, with all sorts of crying nurses.

I'm fully out of it today. Dunno why, though.

I'm, also.  Just got word that one of my wife's closest friends was informed this past Fri. that she has breast cancer.

CANCER FUCHING SUCKS!

yes it does... if you need some inside info send me a PM

Won't no anything - I'm sure she'll keep it within her own family, but definitely appreciate you offering some feedback, Geoff.

I am a Mom of 5 ages 2-16 and still find other peoples kids annoying!  Other than a few exceptions I only like MY kids Smile
I also agree most parents coddle too much.  Let them go outside, take the gates down, don't cut up their food until they are 12 and PLEASE stop with the sanitizer, their hands are getting crusty!!!

I had a similar problem, but instead I stepped out of the shower at the gym to realized I didn't grab towels.  The "naked in the lockerroom" thread has already been addressed, but being nekkid and soaking WET walking across the lockerroom is another story.

Back to the kid thing: most of my friend's DON'T have kids yet, because I had mine so young, and they are all pretty intelligent about kids.  So I don't think childless people are braindead about childraising--actually there may be more parents that are braindead about it.  That's the scary part.

You should have seen TAN in its prime.  It was a glorious thing.  It seemed like you could miss 10 pages going to lunch.

sidebar - I want compression tights. I am sore from yesterday and they would feel good. But they are expensive, even with the BT 10% discount.

That is all.

I spent the $$ but I got em for like 25% off. Sooo worth it. Love em. Will take em to IM with me for the flight home.

25% would be better. Almost got them when they were 20% off at TriSports cuz of a sale, but they ran out

Date a bike mechanic... trust me.

Tee hee. There's a HOT one at one of the stores around here. But it's not close enough for me to go in there lots.

I used to go to the bike shop every couple of days to chat up the girl I bought my bike from.  It was an 80 mile drive.  I just don't think your heart is in it.

I was about to say that if it worked out the way things normally do, he would be driving to see you.
