Hey, i'm keeping predictions in check right now..."beating Daremo on the swim" is a good, conservative start Plus, I'm too much of a whimp to post an acutally prediction of what I expect and post some actual smalk talk....at least today.... Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid : Official Thread My goals are really simple: A.) Run the whole marathon and B.) Finish before the sun sets. If I accomplish those two goals, I will be very happy with my first Ironman. |

Expert 1023 Malvern, England | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid : Official Thread hello everyone I've finally (re)discovered this thread and would like to join in IMLP 2010 is my 2nd IM (first also IMLP in 2007). I had an awful run (nutrition?) first time round so am aiming to work on (s)/b/r and nutrition (general and race) to hopefully, with a good day have a huge improvement on my first time round. I have lofty goals (for a 42 yr old female!) but only me and my coach know them at the moment (ha - unless you see the note in my purse/ on my fridge/ on the computer/ on my bathroom mirror ) I have no accommodation booked - if necessary I'll sleep in the car, though I heard there were dorm rooms available in a college nearby which I'll look into nearer the time. It will likely be just me 'cos my family don't really get the "tri" thing (ok the hubby doesn't and he'll be the one with the kids!). It was the zipp wheels or a place to stay and the wheels won! |

Extreme Veteran 767 Alexandria, VA | Subject: RE: Ironman USA Lake Placid : Official Thread Something tells me Im going to end up buying Rick a beer... which probably wouldn't be a bad deal, because im kind of more excited about getting some fresh Ubu Ale, than I am about swimming around in Mirror Lake for 1.5 hours+. Maybe I'll earn my beer back on the run though. Im just aiming for the Marginally Mediocre Award. |

My adrenaline is pumping just thinking about it!!! I might have to do 3 loops just for fun. Sounds an awful lot like you are officially in. Fred, isn't it your job to go find the participant list and then post it publicly here??? i was outed by Fred & Jorge in person on 7.27.09 sometime in the morning. Direct question, 'did you sign up for IMLP 2010?' And my 2 second hesitation in response apparently gave my position away. Then I was outed by FeltonR.Nubbinsworth who saw the participant list about a month ago and found my name despite it not being an alphabetized list! And during said outing we happened to be at Shelly123's place. Z was also there. So yeah, I'm out. Or rather, I'm in. Always was. Though I will say it's a freaking hard decision to decide if you're doing it AGAIN before you've even done it once. And i was pretty damn sure in the middle of that run i did not give a crap about losing $575 b/c there was no way i was doing that again. And then i finished and realized what an absolutely outstanding time i had, realized how i pretty much only want to do IMs and don't care about any other small races, & for the first & only time could honestly say i LOVED this sport. i really really really love Ironman. So yeah, i've been 100% in since 7.26.09 at 9:09pm. But in typical gps style, i played coy temptress. |

I plan on being up there to cheer everyone on next year! Jackie ..... you are going to have a great race this year up there! Once I figure out where I'm staying you are more than welcome to crash there. I had to let a Zipp 808 rear wheel go to buy a manure spreader. Man does that thing throw sh*t around though!! |
