Listen here Sharks, just because the Manatees don't blow their load in the first week doesn't mean we are out of the game.

I'M NUMBER 1!!

Tripopo - 2012-05-09 8:42 AM I had a beer float last night with a calzone so not going to mention the weigh in today...

Beer float?  Please explain, in great detail so I can replicate.  I assume you do not mean root beer.  I have had stout milkshakes before but never a float

If you want a great beer float.... try the Cocoa Molé by New Belgium with some vanilla ice cream.  It was hands down the best ever beer float that I have ever had.  Here is a link (http://www.newbelgium.com/beer/detail.aspx?id=c9128456-8bc5-4565-afc6-a2ddf8af1fb9).

Wow, that's a nice long ride.

Short run today for me in new shoes. I had been doing all of my running in cross trainers (yeah, don't tell me, lol), but now I have some nice, shiny new running shoes :-)

I wanted to do a lot more than I did, but the shins & calves were telling me otherwise after yesterday's long run, so I cut it short at just 5k. Perhaps I'll hit another long one tomorrow.

Way to go, Chris and Chris!

I squeezed in a strength workout before bed last night and hope/plan to do another one tonight. I might have to step up my game on the Chinese articles, though. Once I travel to my race next week, there ain't no way I will be reading Chinese.

Go Reefers!

I was number one in my tri and it was so much fun. Everyone kept saying go number one, here comes number one, how's it feel to be number one, etc. It was very motivational. Then I came home and posted that I was number one in the Iron Girl. I wasn't telling a lie- lol. Just made my first tri even more special, and was the closest I'll ever come to being number one in anything tri related- hehe.

Hope you had an awesome race.

Oops and forgot to add- GO SHARKS!!! GREAT WHITES THAT IS!!!!!

I'm still feeling like I'm #1!

I had a great 5K - met my goals and, after showering, put my race belt back on and wore my number all day so there would be no doubt I'm #1!

Thank you everyone for taking your moms to brunch, I had the pool to myself at noon today and got in a good SHARKie swim.

to all the kinds of Moms!!!

I upped my walking goal to 200min since it's not even halfway through May and I'm already over goal.

If any of you have folks on your teams who haven't checked in/updated their progress (I know some goals are all-or-nothing so don't worry about those), can you please inspire them? Thanks.

REEFERS RULE!!!!!!

The guys (husband and 10yo son) asked me to leave the house for a little while, so I went for a swim thanks to this challenge! Got a swim in and came home to egg and cheese tacos on low carb tortillas, mixed fresh fruit, uncured BACON, and my son gave me some of his treasures, and they both gave me a spa day and new stereo for my car that plays ipod and pandora from my phone, too. (my old one just has radio working)

LIFE IS GOOD WHEN YOU ARE A REEF SHARK!!!!

Let's go reefers....time to bring it on home, the month is almost half over and we are doing great!

Did a recount on my service today and I'm up to 12, so only 1 short for the month so far.  Shouldn't be too tough to catch up.  I'm loving watching everyone else reach for their goals, even if y'all are SHARKS!!!  Go Manatees!

My update:

Well, weekend swim plans foiled due to weather, work, and stomach issues requiring me to stay close to a toilet. Ew.

Made up for it with a killer swim session this morning of 3400 yards. That's almost twice what I normally do, and if the evening ride tonight gets rained out, I'll go back for another 1000 of purely technique and backstroke to get back on goal track. Otherwise, I'll have to swim 4 days per week for the rest of the month!

On the job in Asheville front, I've officially applied for one as a product development associated, which will require document filing, technical writing, and some graphic design (all of which I've got experience in), and hubby and I have worked out that we could afford at least 6 months of rent (in a modest apartment) in addition to our mortgage here in TN, so hopefully we can fix a few things around our house, put in on the market, and get our move on by August. Will do more job-searching and application tomorrow when I have more time.
