Regular 389 | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread Cant wait to start training on the bike. Right now I'm Marathon training and it is consuming every bit of my time and attention. Race is 12/29 and it can't come soon enough. My ice baths after some intense sessions is getting me ready for the CDA swim, ha ha. Tom |

New user 22 Maple Valley, Washington | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread I'm in! 2nd Ironman for me and 2nd time in Coeur d'Alene. Did my last one in 2012 and can't believe I am doing it again. Also can't believe the race was still open this late in the year. The cold water and hills must have chased some people away. Just starting my training after taking almost 2 years off from any racing. This is going to hurt! |

I have posted the hills, elevation gains and the percentage of the grades earlier in this thread. 2) last time I checked, I found hotels as cheap as 55.00 per night I believe. 3) go to the Facebook page for Ironman Coeur d'Alene because there were people talking about hosting athletes... You may be able to find a place for FREE! |

I ask because I don't know what 44.2 degrees feels like with a full sleeve and I'm considering giving it a try. Edited by AndyEWU07 2013-12-14 1:04 PM |

Would anyone considering swimming in it with a full sleeve? I ask because I don't know what 44.2 degrees feels like with a full sleeve and I'm considering giving it a try. Short answer: no. And, its feels damn cold. I don't need to get in to confirm that. Why would you need to know what 44 feels like? Actually, I think trying to swim in that with just a full sleeve sounds dangerous. |

With a neoprene cap, booties and my full sleeve suit, I figure I could "survive" 20 minutes. I get it, not a good idea... |

Veteran 930 Morgan Hill, California | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread I've got the whole week off fortunately, and trying to convince myself to not do too much. Our weather has been fantastic, and my goal has been to hit Jan. 1 healthy and ready to go. I know there is nothing magic about that date, but just trying not to overdo it this week. But, definitely looking forward to the focus that is coming next week. |
