See you all soon!

The vibe around town and race venue is awesome.

If I don't see some of you before the race, have fun out there! We all worked hard, trained a lot, now it is reward time....

We'll be swimming as well this morning around 7 and will look for everyone at 8 afterwards.  Managed to squeeze a 5 mile run in last night around 6:30 when it was just drizzling.  Looks like this weather is going to clear out this afternoon.  I agree with Phatknot, registration was way too easy (if there is such a thing ...)

We got in around 6 last night.  Took a looooong time to get here - we weren't in a rush   Did the Walmart and settled in.  Slept 9 hours last night - leisurely morning right now....waiting for the storm to pass so we can do a little swim.  Will register then hopefully hop on bike later and do a short run.  I gotta get the jitters out

Good luck everyone! I will be patiently waiting for Sunday 12p for registeration to open for my 1st IM.  Does anyone know how fast IM Florida sells out?

LUNCH TODAY

Hi All, I think the name of the restaurant for lunch is "Liza's Kitchen" which is pretty much right across the road from where I'm staying.  It should be right before the Dunes of Panama on the north side of Thomas Drive.

12 noon.

Last year it sold out online in a couple of hours.  I would plan to be signed into active at noon Central time.

Rode for 40 minutes on a exercise bike at the condo exercise room.  Saw a few people swimming in their wetsuits while I was staring out the window - with lightning strikes every few minutes no less.  I'm all about getting in a workout and getting the jitters out but I'm not about to win one of those Darwin Awards in the process.

There was a massive turnout from BT at the 7am swim! It was awesome to meet y'all in person even though you all look funny in your swim caps

Hi All,  I can't do lunch either.  Weather is clearing,  looking at riding for a little bit mid afternoon,  say about 3?  I've got some stuff to get out of the way before.

It was great to swim this morning and meet everyone who was there. I will be at lunch. I would also like to get in a bike this afternoon or in the morning but will see what the weather does.

Finally got to swim as the weather broke.  Water is a little choppy right now because of the wind but not too bad.  The water temp feels great and the water is crystal clear.  Ran into two jelly fish (neither stung me) and one stingray which scared the heck out of me because it scurried out from the sand beneath me.

drove by the race site around 11 this morning.  Super long line!  I'm glad I did it yesterday.

I'm heading out for a short ride after lunch but I think I'm going to just go from the condo.

I will be going to the athlete's dinner tonight.  Jasha and I were going to meet outside the building around 5:30 and find a table if anyone else is interested in meeting up.

Yeah i was there at 10 and about 100 back from the front and it took 1.5 hours to get through. Very very slow line.

If people want to bike the run course you get free admission into the state park if you are wearing you athlete bracelet.

There were two sections in the state park where there were bad potholes - at the first two locations where you could take a driveway to the right.  the rest was in decent shape if you keep to the right of the road.  There was a section where the right section was sunken a bit by car/truck tires, but nothing that you would trip over.

Fun lunch with BTers!

After weather cleared went out to check out my bike and it wouldn't shift into big chain ring. Went back to the condo, put bike in mini van and headed over to Dragon (that Jen D recommended). My front derailuer needed adjusted Jasha figured out while we rode, but I wanted a professional to get my bike all set. They helped get seal better on valve extenders. They didn't even charge me for the 20' of time they worked on my bike..pretty impressed with that. They had a tip jar that I contributed to.

So glad that my bike is good...
