I'm 3rd from the left in the front row in the top pic and the one in the stripped towel in the bottom pic. It has been great meeting folks. The bike and transition bags are checked in and I'm relaxing before dinner. Am ready to do this but do hope for calmer winds tomorrow. Pretty please.

Question for those who rented the MyAtleteTracker. If you have followed the directions should it already show where you are when it is on? My friend tried to locate me. She found my name on the site, but the map shows someplace else (probably where it was last used). Just trying to figure it out before tomorrow.

Go outside and try it tonight then it will locate you in FL. The company is located in CT and that is where it had me until I used it outside here in PCB.

I did short run today and it was able to track me.

thegomer - 2010-11-05 2:38 PM Hopefully this wind will go away.

Latest forecasts have winds from the north all day tomorrow along the entire bike route.  Winds looking to be anywhere from 5-14 mph.  That means we will have a headwind all the way until we make the turn at Hwy 20 - which is maybe 22 miles.  After that we're mostly looking at crosswinds but we get a nice tailwind coming back down Hwy 79 headed home.  I'll take that over the headwinds at the end.

I was under some type of duress when I registered a year ago.  I was as sick as I have ever been in my entire life and on a couple of prescription drugs.  I got it in my mind the day of IMFL 2009 that I was going to register for 2010. Smile

I turned mine on the the parking lot for a couple of minutes this morning and it is still showing me somewhere weird.  I'm hoping it will sort itself out in the morning.

Good Luck to everyone tomorrow!... ENJOY THE RACE!...  and soak it in when you cross the finish line and they announce YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!...  I had people tell me they crossed the finish line and the announcer did not say it so they stopped and look up at the stand and yell at the announcer to say and he did... You came this far and deserve to hear those words......

I'll be watching on Ironman.com...

IronMan inspiration:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who are we to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?  Actually who are you not to be?  There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won't feel insecure around you... And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.    - author unknown

this one from Brittany, who wrote it on the eve of her first IronMan race: - An Ironman is not made in 140.6 miles; an ironman is forged through countless early morning wake ups, gallons of sweat, hundreds of miles of focus, and many months of self-dicipline.  Like steel, an Ironman enters the fire, is softened, and beat down, and shaped, and molded, and in the end is solid and strong.  Tomorrow I will be an Ironman. --- she did become an Ironman the next day.

Good luck everyone, especially those of you doing your first Ironman!

Say hi when you pass me.   See you out there.

Someone shared this with me last year:

Why else do we do this? Do we do this because we want a totally comfortable race, just to trot on in with everything perfect, nice, and comfortable. Be honest with yourselves. This is NOT why we do these. We do these because we want to feel the suffering, and we want to accept the challenge, face our fears, and push through all of it. We do this out of the love of taking ourselves out to the edge and fighting back to complete the task before us. This is why we've trained months on end. So we have the strength to accept the challenge....and excel.

You are all athletes. You are really, honestly a select few in the world that can do this. Think of this, you should smile when you are feeling the worst out there, late in the marathon, and realize how great it is to be...and feel...alive.

I will try and smile when I feel bad out there knowing I'm fortunate to be out there..my journey to this point over last 7 years has been nothing short of amazing.

Have fun...embrace the challenge~

Have fun out there tomorrow..hope to see you

Good luck everyone.  I hope this day brings you everything you have trained for, and the sweetest of memories!!!
I expect I will spend quite a bit of time in front of my computer tomorrow following you guys.  I'd be happy to help with the tracking.  Someone please point me in the right direction.
Let's go BT....

I hope that most of your are already asleep but I just wanted to say THANKS sooo much for all that you have provided me this year.  You have been my online family and I really enjoyed meeting  a lot of you this week.  Hope to see you out there.  You might see my family who had green t-shirts made with JOG (my initials) on the back.  There's a lot of them.  I told them to cheer for anyone who looked like they might be on this forum.  (I know but I didn't have a way of describing you each individually)  Ok now Im rambling,  off to bed!

Lets do this!!
