Quick summary: thunder storms passed through a couple hours before the race. Other than a breeze, weather was awesome. Swim- INSANE!, Bike- challenging but beautiful, Run- amazing. I smiled so much the last 2 miles people were asking if my cheeks hurt. Oh, a little embarrassed about the guns at the finish line. Not what I had planned, just sort of came out. I also currently hate the stairs in our lake house. Thanks again to this group. I knew you were watching and it meant a lot.

Just saw that... Hope it's true!! Interestingly, the woman on FB who reported that to a friend of ours was the one I was at the HM with in my earlier story. Really, really hope he's OK!!!

So next year. No IM's for me. Chatted with the bride, and she/we are going to do a Gran Fondo type ride together.

We have one of those, but that doesn't seem comparable to an IM.  Maybe I'm missing something?  Is she talking big bike trip  like this?

Oh no. Not comparable at all. It's something we can do 'together.' You know as a 'couple.' It'll be alot oftraining for her do the 180k or whatever it is.

I think this kind of compromise is a great thing for a marriage--other people's marriages, that is

I did my first ever LTHR test on the bike (trainer) today.  That sucked, but I kept telling myself to keep going because I didn't want to repeat it any time soon.  Next up.....same thing, but on the run.

IMPRESSIVE!!!!!  I think it needs to be purchased in 24" x 36", framed, and placed on a prominent wall - with 'HTFU' under it!!!
