I almost hit a _____ while on my bike!! (Page 3)

I'll be in Assateague this summer while taining for an OLY so I imagine I'll be avoiding the 1000 lb "squirrels" known as ponies this year on my old bike cause the good one isn't going near the sand and salt.

well I was doing a tempo run, and he was biking, sharp blind turn, I dodge to my right, he dodges to his left, and well SMACK. He ended up tearing his achillies and was in a wheelchair all spring. I was fine.

i wouldnt say this was an almost, i most certainly hit the thing

i just got back from a ride (11 mile) that got cut short by a bee. the b**ch hit me in the forehead and went up under my glasses. i got stung twice around my eye before i was able to rip the glasses of my face.

at least a squirrel didnt come flying at my face...

Busting down 7 mile road here in Michigan just outside of Northville on a descent into town, still in the rural area outside town but rapidly entering the suburban area. I'm low and aero, head down, 32 M.P.H. flat out.

I look up and there is this huge brown wall in front of me. I juke the bike right and miss it by.... inches. When I start breathing again I look back over my right should: I just missed slamming into a horse's as it walked across the road.

Thailand, 2004: Laguna Phuket Island.

I go for a nice trail run behind the beach on a little path in the jungle. Around a corner there is the distinct aroma of a very large animal. Then, I am face to face with a water buffalo. Not good. I stop, freeze and it lowers its head. Worse. I stand my ground for a moment and it quickly loses interst, I turn and retreat.

I DID run over a chipmunk once while going over 25mph.

My bike and I combine for 215lbs. My tires 19mm tires were inflated to 150-160 lbs/sq inch. The result of which was that I cut that poor little bugger in half.

I DID hit a dog on my bike.  I was doing about 20MPH.  Seat dropped down 2cm, brake lever squirreled up aerobars buggered up and head set came loose.....BUT I DIDN'T FALL OFF.  It was a little dog about the size of a Shitzu just ran under my front tire.  Owner said the dog was ok.   Deers, snakes, gator armadillos, turles and a wild pig are frequently seen where I usually ride.
