So, despite what the folks on ST say, I fully intend on having a great time and a great race at Hagg Lake in September. No shot at worlds, but the wife and I are going to turn it into a bit of a vacation to the Williamette Valley & Seattle.

Who else is making the trip to OR?

It's not much of a trip for me, but I'll be there.

Hagg Lake is a great venue, but a tough course. Hills, hills, and more hills.

See you in September!

I'm planning on qualifying this weekedn, and if my calf heals up a little in the next 5 days, I should be at the race in September. It'll be my first nationals since '94.

My original plan was to be there (that got scrubbed in March). I qualified last year but didn't go... Too bad it'll be way over on the east coast for the next 15 years.

Not that I'll make it as a competitor but where is it moving to after this year? I'm sure that would be one fun race to see...

My main goal this season is to qualify...here's to hoping i can make it happen at the Philly OLY. If only the LBS could have done a tune-up (said it'd take 3 weeks) before my last training push!

I think I'm going to pass. I would like to have a go at getting a worlds slot, but even if I slipped in the top 8.. I don't think I'd make the trip to Australia for it and I don't really feel like going to Oregon for it. I'm already going to Montana and Colorado this year.. getting time off for Oregon would be tough.

I don't know where it'll be next year (hasn't been announced as far as I know), but this is the first time (aside from last year) it's been in the PacNW (if you want to call Portland "the PacNW" in, oh, 15 years...

It is a hard course but it was a blast last year!  Train on many rolling hills!  Like one after the other!  Parking is a so get there early!  Have fun and tear it up!

I'm going just because I qualified by winning my AG in a few local tris.  I'm doing my first IM 3 weeks before so I'm not looking to turn in a prize winning performance, but who knows when I will have the opportunity to go again.

No! They're hills, not mountains. There will be one "hard" climb, a bunch of rollers, and one flat stretch per loop (2 loops). No reason not to use a disk.
