Subject: RE: LIGHTING FOR CYCLING IN THE DARKThere is a choice between needing a light to see or to be seen. I have same issue while riding but mine is in late evenings. I ride on streets with lights, but come across patches where they are out and can't see a thing in front of me. I have gotten away with a very lite LED model from Catseye that does the trick, but would not be good enough if I was counting on it 100% to see path ahead of me.
It is pretty bright for small, compact light that clips to aero bar. Then I have light on the back that clips on and is pretty darn bright red LED. Can change from fixed light to flashing. If you need light that has greater output, the MTB mags and sites are good searching point I have found.
Good Luck. |
