Subject: RE: Getting aerobars on my roadie Monday...what type of hydration bottle do i need?Just an FYI, but depending on how you get your aerobars fitted to your road setup, you may have trouble fitting an aerobottle. I have the profile gt jammers (which are short) on my road bike, but when I added the aerobottle I realized that the jammers were in too close to the handlebars and the bottle wouldn't fit properly. The bracket became a must + zip ties to make it all work. It's not the neatest setup, and I still need to use the rubber bands, but it's solid. (I could have extended the bars out further but I paid to have them fited and I wasn't going to mess with that for a bottle). Oh - and keep the yellow doohickey + the foam cap. Use them together and you'll have next to no spillage. I tried switching them around a few times and learned (after a full coating of gatorade) that together they provide the best splash guard. As to Daremo's suggestion - perhaps the bottle is less aerodynamic, but it is much more convenient. |
