I'm looking to get a cycle computer w/cadence. I'm currently using a Cateye Strada Wireless, which has served me well. But lately, I've been wondering about my cadence. I've browsed the Performance site, looking at their cadence computers...but I'm sure there are some that are better than others out there. I just want to make an informed decision on one. I know there are a few wireless versions out there, but they seem to be a bit out of my budget...so a wired one will do just fine. Any recommendations?

The vetta RT77 has wired speed and cadenca. I have owned a couple, before my Polar and Garmin, and they work great.

My .02

Skip the cadence.   Too much wiring cluttering up your bike.  Some people can't nor shouldn't pedal at 90 rpm.   Your body will tell you what's most efficient.

If you do much winter trainer rides inside it may be good to get one with a rear wheel speedometer sensor.

I just recently bought the Blackburn Nuero 4.0 wireless with cadence, and I think it's fantastic.

I've got a Polar CS200 with cadence.  It's wireless so there's no problem with cables although it costs the best part of 100 pounds (200$?) but it's worth it IMO.

Well...the Strada Wireless is what I'm using right now...and I agree it's a fine computer, but I really would like cadence.

Garmin 305 w/ cadence and HR.  Can use indoor or outdoor.  Can run or cycle and get distance.  If you want you can even get a footpod and use it to log miles on a treadmill to transfer to computer.  I even swim with mine in a baggie under my swim cap.  All this for around $180 and no wiress

This is a little different, but I love using my Garmin Forerunner 305 with the wireless cadence sensor.

In addition to the bike, you can use it for running, and the GPS and heart rate monitor are great features as well.

What's really nice is you can get it for a pretty good price now. On Amazon it's about $200 for the unit, plus $40 for the wireless cadence, and another $20 for the bike mounting kit. That's obviously more than many of the bike computers, but you get a lot more features.

What about the new Cateye V2c?  Has anyone any experience with it?  It is $139 on amazon right now. I need to replace my Polar CS200CAD that is increasingly giving me intermittant MPH and hence mileage readings that are off.  (A 56 mile ride only registered around 48 or so.)

I just went wireless with the Sigma 1606L DTS with cadence (about $75) and like it better than my Cateye Astrale 8 wired unit; the Astrale is a *great* computer to get cadence, if wires are okay with you, but wireless is so much simpler and cleaner looking, with no wires to get yanked causing unit failure. It does require mounting 2 seperate sensors and it recommends mounting the speed sensor on the fork, however I have been told that rear-mounting it will work (for indoor training) I just haven't tried it yet. Initial setup was a little awkward but once set, is very user friendly, with a backlight, multi-line display.  I likee.
