Subject: Interpret my dream?

Okay, this dream has got me worked up. I haven't been able to think about anything else. It goes like this: Starting to hike along a ledge up to a mountain, see a bear and a man photographing it. It is a grizzly. Bear all of a sudden charges down the trail towards me. I run like hell to the car and get in. Watch as the bear runs around the parking lot like crazy, chasing other people, grabbing a little girl with it's claw.... Basically, I get out of there. There are a few more details, but that is the jist. I looked at a dream website and it said that a bear represents victory or fierce competition, while being chased represented something that I feel is psychologically overcoming me and I'm trying to escape from it. What does that mean? Maybe I'm scared of my fierce competition? Maybe I am the fierce competitor? Maybe I'm just crazy?

Very vivid dream. You know those ones you get in the morning just before you wake up?

The grizzly represents the bear, and he's just excited to be at another triathlon. He's running around introducing himself, and grabbing the girl with his claw is just him pinching his sweetie on the behind. While he represents a threat on the bike-leg with his knowledge and experience, deep down he's just a good guy.

Of course, I'm not a psychologist, so that's just my interpretation...

Maybe you're afraid of the bear? Not the bear in your dream, mind you...but our very own bear... who roams these boards and is overwhelming you with bike advice, and his opinions regarding red v. blue and their inherent speed qualities????

PS and the photographer is probably just the guy from Marathonfoto or Brightroom.

Of course you're experiencing repressed sexual urges, which manifest themselves as dreams about yours truly. Please try to keep those urges in check, as I am a happily married man.

Either that, or sometimes a bear is just a bear. ;-)

I kind of like that "a bear represents victory or fierce competition."

The grizzly is, of course, the Bear. The little girl is iTri. ;-)

I had a weird one last night. I dreamt I had moved to Florida (which is likely to happen in waking life) and was in a liquor store buying some Skullsplitter, a strong Scottish ale, when some jerk stole my wallet. I was on a rampage when the alarm woke me. ~~No beer was harmed in the making of this dream.~~

The bear is your father, who is chasing you in order to castrate you and prevent you from stealing your mother away from him, who you love. The girl is your mother, who he steals away from you...

That'd probably be the the traditional fruedian interpretation...but then again... most dreams could be interpreted in exactly the same way by frued...

But the Jamesonian interpretation: " you are going to do awesome in your next tri"
