Our family is going to the San Diego zoo on Friday, so will most likely have to search out people for greets pre or post race Saturday.

Anyone staying over Saturday night? Might get a post race dinner meet going.

I'm shooting down on Friday mid day to register and pick up some merchandise.

Bib #s are now posted.  I'm 999......wonder if I'd get DQd were I to show up with two little nubby horns on my Spiuk and mistakenly wore my bib upside down?  LOL

Good luck to everyone!

Oh my Lord!! Can't believe that the race is next weekend!!

So on the good side, I still have not seen a BT get together on Friday for lunch. Anyone with suggestions?

Robins nest?

Harbor fish and chips?

X2  My Wetsuit was stolen last friday and I need to break in a new one before the race. I would be up for a swim race week.

Okay, I'm officially back from the dead.  Cold virus is mostly gone, so I should be well enough to make a day of it out there in another week.  Still a little slower than before the illness, but oh well.  I will probably drive down with the wife Friday afternoon and stay in Carlsbad.  Guess I better book a room soon.

Have a good race everybody.  And watch out for the live fire exercise as you ride through the base.  Those marines don't miss with the gels, waters, and gatorades.

Swimming in the harbor before the race is not allowed because of the boats in the marina. The Tri Club of San Diego has OW group swims almost daily.

Those are really good suggestions but unfortunately probably won't be able to seat together as many athletes/supporters as we'll have

Yes, I am coming as Faeron's sherpa I'll be out there holding a giant GO BT neon-colored sign as well, so hopefully I can be some encouragement to all of you out on the course

We went to a really great Italian restaurant last year--plenty of seating and lots of choices whether you want a grease-laden Alfredo or a light salad with seafood--how does that sound?

What about meeting up next to the bridge that overlooks the expo and we can all walk up together?

Last year, a group of us swam from oceanside pier! If anyone is interested, would love to do that again on thursday afternoon. Not friday, would like my wet suit to dry off.

The wave times have been published.
I'm in the M35-39 AG with 447 others!
I think my wave starts at 7:10, Dark Green(Silver) Swim Cap.

How did you figure out which of the wave starts you were in?  The tenative start times that I saw had two categories for most of the mens AGs. Not that it really makes a difference as they are within 3 minutes of each other, just curious.

That blows bigtime.  Not sure if stuff like that pops up on Craigslist, probably worth keeping an eye on it for a while for your area.

I can thank Nytro for a great sale, I got at 2008 QR wetsuit at a fantastic price. I'm not thrilled that I have to break in a new wetsuit but love the new gear.

On the IronmanCalifornia website, go under information and scroll down. They have listed all the waves. Now for some age groups, like mine, they have three waves, so you will know when you check in by the color of the cap you receive.

Good luck!

Yeah, the tentative start times have been posted for a quite some time, I just thought Joker70 had found some additional information when he determined the exact wave and number of people starting in the multiple series AG he's in.

Seems like bib numbers were assigned by ascending birthdate.  I think that the first wave for each AG are the early bib numbers, and so on.  If you search the participant list for your classification (e.g., M40-44), sort by bib #, split the results into the number of waves for your AG, that should probably give you a really good idea which wave you'll be in...
