Wait... I'm suppose to have a life outside of triathlons????

Just kidding...

I'm a counselor III for a children psych unit at a local hospital.  When I am not working weird shifts I am training.  A social life would be nice... but I need to find one first.

Husband, father of 5 (4 boys 27,25,18,14 then a girl 11), fly fisher. 65+hours a week I'm the General Manager of a very busy Residential, Multi-family, Commercial renovation company. Something you don't hear of much in Michigan these days. We're very, very fortunate.

Captain Firefighter / Paramedic. Since I am the Capt I set the PT schedule for my stationWink.

I also work part time  as a Paramedic in a smaller city about 30 miles form here.

Being a Firefighter gives you plenty of time to train, I can even work my P/T job around it.

Being a Husband takes some time away from training, but not much ( i guess that would depend on the wife).

Being new father takes lots of time away from training.  But is very much worth it.

I am a manufacturers rep in the window and door industry.  Basically, I work for myself and set my schedule.  I have weeks that I travel alot, but there are also weeks where I spend most of my time from the home office on the phone.

Personally think I have a great job to allow flexability in training time.

Fulltime lawyer and mom of 2 young kids.  How do I train?  I get up at 5 am and go to bed at 9:30....Let your house be messy, let go of any volunteer stuff at the school (there is always some other mom who can do it), decide its OK to be a bit selfish about your training time...My daughter, who inherited the same overweight gene as me, is always asking when can she start doing triathlons..If I never do anything else for my kids right at least they will grow up with excercise as one of their core values...

Dad of two boys, 6 & 3yrs, Senior design engineer for a tier 1 automotive supplier (still employed).  I train at night after my boys go to bed. I've never been a morning guy, so night workouts work for me.  Plus, last year I finished my second master's degree, so I just replaced going to night school with exercise.

I haven't done a tri yet (June 2009), but I love the training so far and I have inspired 5 other people to start tri training. That feels good too.

Glad to be part of BT.

13 years as part of the thin blue line in the bussling metropolis of H-town, Tejas.  After working Homicide for the past ten years, I have finally made my way to a nice 8-4 spot, with weekends and holidays off.  Enough time to get in runs in the AM and bike, swim and gym in the PM.  It's as close to a normal life as the profession offers...

I manage a support team throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa for a US based satellite communications company.  when I'm in the UK I work from my home office so training can be done in the morning (my boss is US based and gets online around 1pm my time :-) )

the only real killer is I travel 50-60% of the time and sometimes on short notice, I can't gaurentee to have suitable training facilities so I can go 2 or 3 weeks without being able to follow a plan and fitting in training where i can.

Oh to be a student again!!!!!!!

I have been an RN for 18 years. I have days during the week off because I work every other weekend and work 3 days a week. Makes it a little easier to train on a regular basis.

Other life?? oh, you must mean what is my hobby... wait, THIS is my hobby.  I get so confused -

Single mom (11 and 5), Fitness instructor and coordinator, student and doing my best to hold on to 12 years that I put into a company that is essentially worth nothing at this point, economically.  Thankfully, I have my kids, friends, equipment and time!  If not for those, I'd never make it to November (IM AZ '09, baby!).

I manage my company's international business but have a home office.  My schedule is very flexible, at least when I am not flying around the world, and most days allows me to work around my tri-training.  I typically visit about 20 countries a year, and I am hoping to combine a HIM with one of my business trips to either Australia or South Africa in 2010.  By the way, I am just getting started in triathlons myself.

I have a PhD in physics and are currently working as principal scientist at a high tech company. Got divorced and remarried recently. My job gives me the flexibility to come in a little later (9 AM) and/or take longer lunch breaks.

Electronic Trading in Equities, my formal title is Global Head of Marketplace, suffice to say I love what I do....My company actually ENCOURAGES me to compete, so while its not an easy balance, its good to know there are almost 2 dozen others at my firm who are "Tris"....

Training is near impossible to fit into my life.  I am a technician for emergency power systems.  I live in York PA, but work requires that I travel to Mansfield, Allentown, Scranton, Philly, State College, Chambersburg and all points in between. ( in the course of a day)  I train when time allows, in the morning, at night and weekends.
