This isn't about some OTHER topic is it? bryancd - 2008-11-25 6:07 PM CKinsey - 2008-11-25 6:05 PM It's called a joke Chris, relax. There are more than a few threads on this topic.bryancd - 2008-11-25 5:49 PM SWEET!!!! The bi-monthly tattoo thread!!!!! I just don't understand posts like this. I really like the mostly welcoming and patient with newbie questions this board offers (I think it mirrors the attitude and experiences I've had with other athletes at races) and would hate to see that go away.
I did a search, as suggested, and found that there are quite a few threads about tattoos, but there are quite a few different pics in each thread. The OP asked to see some ink, and I think some new ink was shown that was not in the other threads.
Sorry, my bad, long day at work. May I humbly suggest the sarcasm font? to help those like me who are slow to "get it."
Oh, maybe a little. Now I learned something today, including how to hijack a thread. |

Champion 10618 | Subject: RE: Triathlon Tattoos coldheat - At 55 I did IMLP '04, my first iron, thought about the m-dot tattoo, didn't do it, no regrets. The following year I did The Canadian Iron, which has a very nifty logo (public viewing at www.somersault.ca), thought about having that inked on me (minus the words, of course), didn't do it, no regrets. So where does that leave me and my soon-to-be-60 unblemished body? It's been a conservative life in terms of personal decoration. I've never had a beard or moustache, I'm not piecred, never been inked.......there has to be more to life than this, eh? So, in a half-hearted way I look around for something that might have lasting appeal (although, at my age, it's not like I have to face living with the thing for a very long "forever"!!), and nothing has really resonated yet. The Canadian Iron logo still looks pretty good, and beyond that there is the musseldude for Musselman half-iron (on display at www.musselmantri.com) , arguably my favorite race. The musseldude, intrepidly doing his thing, somewhere on my person.......that just might work! And then again, there is my wife, not a fan at all of tattoos. She would grudgingly accept one - I think! - if I came home with it already branded into me, but it definitely would never work as a major turn-on for her. (Cutting to the chase, would it act as a major turn-off? Hmmmm.....) With each passing day, I think I'm just kidding myself about ever getting a tattoo - but you never know. Right now, I'm feeling kind of stoked about it, to be sure. More than actual having one, perhaps, there's the appeal of having steeled myself and actually GOTTEN it, stopped being a big baby and just done the deed. (Musseldude, come speak to me!) |

No disrespect intended, but this is a topic discussed a great deal and I think there's not al lot left to said. There are plenty of examples of how some have honored their accomplishments if you do a search and plenty of people think it's a waste of skin. I could care less, but as Bear pointed out, to post this agiain and to expect a different response... |

It's really not for you, or me, or anyone, to tell people what they ought to be posting and asking. I think you perhaps ought to search the forums yourself. Find out what the folks who run BT have to say about discouraging new people to the site from posting questions that in their opinion, have already been discussed. No disrespect intended, of course. |

Back to the topic at hand, I would have gladly posted my Ironman tattoo (probably for the 3rd or 4th time), but unfortunately I am at work and you probably have seen it already after being chastised by The Bear. And personally I don't mind seeing the same questions asked over and over again on this site. After all, it's not named "ExperiencedTriathlete.com"

My Mum got a tattoo (a bluebird on her shoulder) at the age of 68, so you've got some time left. She loved it and so did my Dad. My husband always said he hated tattoos but loves mine but they are quite small and dainty and easily hidden. Every one marks an event in my life I am proud of. |

don't know about motorbikes personally, my sister is having a mid-life crisis though and has four. Start small with the tattoos, I've got a tiny butterfly on my foot which is much admired, even by people who profess to hate tattoos. |
