Magella - 2009-07-20 10:38 PM Does anyone know when the athlete tracker will be up? I want to email my friends and coworkers before I head up to Placid.

I thought this was the link www.ironmanlive.com but it redirect.  Is there somethese?

So do they have to wait until the day of to track us? I thought there might be something that they can plug our bib # in and have updates sent to their phone. Maybe I'm waaaay off on this?????

As far as I can remember Ironman.com doesn't do phone/text updates. But I could be wrong! Normally Ironmanlive goes up the day before the race with the athlete tracker, if not the morning of. I normally just tell my fam/friends to go to www.ironman.com on race day and you'll see "Track an Athlete" under the lake placid logo on the front page of ironman.com.

Oddly enough...I'm not yet. I think once I take the exit off of the Thruway, it'll all become reality.

LP is close to me, and every year I wonder when I should sign up.  Right now, I'll have to enjoy the expereince through all of you.

PennState - 2009-07-22 4:15 PM Just arrived... I'm going for a run in a few... very beautiful up here as usual

I'm jealous!! I haven't worked out in 5 days and I'm going stir crazy! I've put on a few lbs, feel like crap and haven't had a chance to pack a thing yet. I can't wait for Sunday to be able to relax and do some soul searching for 11 or 12 hrs.

My cell # is (607)237-5831. Feel free to call with any meeting plans. I hope to see everyone at the swim in the morning! I'll be wearing BT gear or Aquaphor gear.

Hi everyone,

I'm leaving from my parent's house in Syracuse in a few hours, so I'll be joining the masses.  I really want to just get up there and into all the excitement of town; the vibe is incredible.  And, the weather stuff it's really phasing me much this year.  I'm going to control what's within my control, and let the rest be what it is.  The hard work is done - now it's time to execute and finish the job!

I'll probably swim tomorrow morning, so I'll keep an eye out for everyone.  Hopefully I'll register today so I can get that out of the way and focus on relaxing for the next few days.

See everyone soon!

Hi everyone,

I just arrived into Lake Placid, it's cloudy but the temp is nice. I'm staying at the High Peaks which overlooks Mirror Lake and I will be swimming tomorrow @ 7:00am with our club, then driving the course.
Wishing everyone a great race.

"Bring it On!"

All the meetups are always so early in the morning.  We are on vacation, and you can swim all day. :-)  I just did my run on 86 at 10pm, those are more like my hours.

Stupid work schedule won't allow me to arrive any earlier than 10am-ish on Saturday, so I might miss out on the early gatherings. However, I'll be volunteering in the Women's Transition Area--wish there was some way to easily identify you ladies! I'll have to come up with some creative way to show my BT support.

Anyway, good luck to everyone, have an amazing race. You are all so incredibly inspiring to me.

I can't wait to be there already and I'm not even going to be doing this thing until 2010!

I'll be in a hot pink DeSoto tank top.  Maybe coming out of the the water in the 1:05-1:15ish range, don't really know though, so that's a vague guess.   Don't know what you look like though!

So what time is everyone swimming tomorrow?  I'm heading up to LP now.  I too will be volunteering in the women's transition tent on Sunday.

Especially for those that I have already met and thus can recognize, if there is a family member/friend that is also in LP that you would like me to call if I see you when I'm out there spectating later (since I know it can be tough to catch your loved ones racing when you only get a brief glimpse of them), PM me their cell number, and if I see you, I will try to let them know.
