I'll try to join in if I can.  Met with the group for first time at RedBones after the MIT expo...great bunch of folks.  Rode around the lake two weekends ago.  Some challenging hills especially on north side.  I'm in the International so will be done by dinner...hopefully.  May have to wait at finish line for TriToy...so wait up will ya.

pfffffffft - that is my tongue out giving you a big old raspberry....we shall see who has the fast bike split!

I was up north in a more shallow lake last weekend... and it was freezing... but it's supposed to be warm and sunny for the rest of the week with no rain, so it should warm up quite a bit this week.

Yes a friend has a house up there and he mentioned it was super cold. I did a swim at walden last weekend and it was also coldish so I figure Newfound lake is probably colder...

Jordan, what's the latest water temp? (I want to know if I should pack the neoprene cap )

I've been watching the water temp on this website: http://home.metrocast.net/~prondeau/NewfoundWeatherVws.html

some days it's on there other days it's not, of course today it isn't..... so that's not much help
no matter what the temp is I'm still wicked excited, besides... there are ways to warm up a wetsuit Wink

I went this past Saturday and it was 55 degrees.  Swam for about 25 min and it was fine.  Cold, but doable.

yeah I know, a few years ago it was that cold but doable, that's not my concern; the issue is that I wasn't able to warm up until the run hence the bike leg was miserable. This time around if it is that cold I hope a neoprene cap might help a bit with that

Wife and I swam today, sign at the entrance said water temp was 56.  Cold at first getting in but after adjusting to it, it was fine.

I freeze in my pool when they turn the temp down a degree or two and I was able to swim in it.  Can't HTFU like my wife though, she was wearing a sleeveless today and will race in it also...

So, on Wednesyday I went to do a final swim session prep for Moosey and felt a minor tightness on left shoulder; thursday I was supposed to do an easy swim and arm hurt like a MoFo even with 200 yds into the swim. It is been hurting every since (very weird), anyone I am icing, taking ibuprofen and hoping it is just some minor thing that lets me swim tomorrow. However if I can't I dont want to risk it so I'll prob DNS and go do a bike/run workout.

If that's the case if is anyone up for doing the HIM on Sunday and do the swim for me? I'll now for sure tomorrow but if you up for it call me @ 617-799-9393 or sent me a PM here on BT. Thanks and see you guys tomorrow!

haha x2 on the sand, I got out there and said "Oh $hit...."

Also wanted to pass along Kudo's to Keith and crew.  My family had a great time this weekend.  My 2 and 5 year old got up at 4:30am 2 days in a row and Saturday we stayed until after the kids race, and Sunday we were there for 8-9 hours while my wife raced and they had a great time.  They loved the moosebucks, pie-eating contest, kids-zone, kids race and the park itself.  My son was very proud of his medal, and the towel + toy he won for winning the younger kids pie eating contest on Saturday.  If you saw the sleeping kid laying on the ground near the run-out or sleeping on the picnic table by the beach on Sunday that was us.

Please thank the ladies in the kids zone if you can as they were wonderful, my daughter hugged them all before we left.

Looking forward to doing more of races you are running if they are all like this one.

Thanks again.

EDIT: Also, Keith will the video taken this weekend be available to check out or was that live only?
