KEJ - 2009-01-15 4:40 PM see you there!

Thanks, I feel honored to get a post by the race director himself.

I'm trying to get my neighbor kevin to do this race. Would be more fun.

I'll be there as well.  Wife is doing the 1/2 and it's too hard for us both to train for a 1/2 at the same time so I'll be doing one late in the season.

So how cold is the water going to be?  I am a wimp.

Water should be low 60's to mid-60's, depending on the spring. Last winter, as you know, was a brute.

Amazingly, we had 94 degree weather for the race weekend. The water was 70 by tues after race week

so, it'll depend on the weather in May and early June

All signed up.  It'll be my first non-sprint triathlon ever.  Doing Timberman 70.3 in August too.  Go big or go home, I guess, for my 2nd season in triathlons!  HA!!

I'm in for this Oly and Timberman, but I'm just doing the sprint in Gilford.  The Mooseman will actually be just my second tri ever (after the NE Season Opener in early May) so I'm a little worried about the Oly distance but I've heard such good things about the event I'm not gonna wimp out.

So anyone else ride the Computrainer course for Mooseman?  Was wondering what you thought about it vs. the real thing.  I rode it again last night for the first time in months and it was a pretty damn tough course to ride.  Quite a few hills that went well over 10% grade (which on my CT is lowest gear standing up)

as a general rule, the CT courses are MUCH harder than the real thing - I have not tried mooseman, but tried Timberman a few months ago and gave up!

Keith responded that the CT course is much harder, and since he is the RD I trust that that is so!  I know that the indoor time trial that uses the central park course on the CT is a heck of a lot harder than central park is!

Does anyone know what the camp sites are like at Wicosuta? Can you park next to your site? are there fire pits or grill pits to cook on?
actually, I think those were my only questions

Thanks,
Dave

I'll try to join in if I can.  Met with the group for first time at RedBones after the MIT expo...great bunch of folks.  Rode around the lake two weekends ago.  Some challenging hills especially on north side.  I'm in the International so will be done by dinner...hopefully.  May have to wait at finish line for TriToy...so wait up will ya.
