I STILL have not been out to Bootleg!  I plan to get out there this month and check out some of the XC rides.  I'll leave the downhill park to you crazies!

We are planning a trip for the fall when it's cooler and they are running the shuttles out of All Mountain Cyclery. I have always wanted to go! But I figured risking injury on those trails wasn't a good idea before the race.

Did a long ride this weekend, two laps of a 15mile course... still hurting from the weekend before.  Scored 7pts per lap with a total of 14 pts.  This will be the greatest point total for me this month...  The rest will be shorter rides..  Will ride the same course again this thursday before the 104degrees hit us for another seven

Go team!!!!!

23 points for me so far! Most likely won't get any mid-week rides in, but I'm planning to make up for the weekend.

I want an official ruling!!!!

Mostly because I may be doing something like this in a couple weeks...

I will be honest, this looks like ONE ride, so you can't brake it into 'laps'.  That gives too many points, IMO.  (or CAN we?).

For example, if you did the same lap twice in one day or twice in one weekend at an hour each time with a hill and tech score of 3 each plus would give you a score of 8 pts per lap for a total of 16.  But if it was ONE ride with two laps, it would be the same hill and tech scores of 3 each and a total ride score of 3 points gives you a total of 9.  Not 16...

One ride is one ride...  I think you need to have significant down time between laps to consider them two, IMO.

As far as what I am doing, I have a ride I am planning to do that has a 6 mile flat fire road to and from the trail head, but then an 8 mile of hilly and technical single track.  I don't think it's fair to break it in to two rides, so I was going to take the average of the hill and tech scores and get credit for one ride time...

For example, 1 hour of hill and tech score of 1 for the fire road, then one hour at hill and tech score of 3 for the single track, gives me an 'average' hill and tech score of 2 for over two hours...  Clear as mud?

In the long run I don't care since the point is to just get us out there riding in the dirt!!!!

I did the exact same riding but scored 1 less point. I guess you get penalized in this competition for going fast. LOL

Trust me!  It didn't escape my notice.  You needed to take more time on the pre ride and enjoy the scenery!!!

I was on the course thinking that you guys doing the full get the same credit as I did for the half!  We both get a "4" for a race...

But to be fair, if we get a bonus point for race AND the time credit, I'm down with that.  You guys DESERVE more points for doing that loop twice...

I agree. 1 ride is 1 ride. No, stopping and chatting and posey sniffing for 30 minutes between laps does not allow it to be 2 rides.

Dyslexia - West Cup race - and BTW if Elaine goes with 4s for the hills I'll certainly go with whatever she says - But in my book a long sustained hill isn't necessarily a long and sustained hill just because your pushing!

Come on, the first 2.5 mils was ALL up!  (not including that one loose downhill section just before the nasty ascent!...

I got a midweek ride in today.  I downgraded the hills rating of my typical ride since I realize how much worse it could be.

May 5

Hills = C = 2
Tech = C = 2

Did a really hot ride on my favorite trail - stopped before the ghastly death hill - why is it already 100 degrees? anyway here's my puny little ride: Hills 2, tech 2, time 1 (by three stinking minutes!) - so 5 whole points for whatever my team is called - whoopee!

So taking a 5 min break doesnt counts?  man, that sucks, I was hoping mini rides...  Fine I wont take a break every other mile or so... darn it....

Yes, I finally took my mtn bike out to FI.  Did the Bunny, SnakeDance, Rez & Fire loops.

So lets see, C for hills (thanks to the fire loop), C for Technical (although I finished the ride after dusk...so does that make it a B?), and C for time.  So 6 points for my team.

Got in another ride today.  It was a nice one.  I took a wrong turn which put me on over a mile of some really technical stuff.  I won't be making that mistake again.

Come on team 2!  I could use some help!!!

You can take breaks.  I took one to talke to some ladies on horseback today...

BUT, I use the ride time on the bike computer for this challange.  But I used the time on my watch (including the break) for my training logs.  Both wer over an hour, so it didn't make a difference.

But the challange is based on actual riding time.  Not smelling the daisies!

I could really kill it tomorrow and go for a MTB bike ride for my planned 3 hour training session...  However, I think I have been ignoring the tri bike, so I will be taking that out instead.

Bikes get so lonely when they're ignored. I keep my road bike in the house so that at least it sees me every day and doesn't pine for me - they can be so emotional - especially the ones with skinny tires.

Bummer I could have given myself a ton of points by doing 'laps' in my driveway - Elaine is such a stickler - darn her. BTW am I kicking your Milton ? After losing to you in that horrible roadbike mileage thing I would hate to make a habit of it.
